Did a little bit of tinkering last night, Put the starter in that Dustin recommended using and only two of the three bolt holes line up.:( Probably just going to drill and tap the third to try and use the compact starter.
Ran the tranny cooler lines, had to modify the mounts a bit with a BFH and big bit to make them usable on the cummins block :hillbilly:

When I pulled off the gear position / selector switch to send to Dustin I seemed to misplace the lock nut that clamps it onto the shaft....
so is it really necessary? The hole is keyed so it cant slip on the shaft. If it is necessary does anyone know where I can get just the nut and not have to buy the whole switch assy.

I also installed the trans temp sensor in the line going to the cooler. I didn't see any port in the tranny itself that would accept my temp sensor. Any one see any problem with this? Also installed the boost sensor and the Pyro sensor.

Dustin's new bell housing doesn't have any extra mount holes in it for things like the trans dip stick mount so I will have to come up with something for that. I was thinking just drilling and tapping my own hole.

:beer:that's all for now

That's the sensor from the original engine (toyota) right? If so, the plug should be one of those funky ones that slides over the nub sideways.
I can take a pic this afternoon if you want.

any chance you'll be able to tell what he did to the wiring harness? I'm wondering if there's any point in me sending mine to him. I'm fairly capable with wiring, and would rather do it myself if possible

You can do the wiring harness yourself. Basically you just strip everything out except the AC stuff, temp and oil pressure sensor. Get a copy of the EWD though or you will be second guessing yourself constantly.

Yea Dustin set me right, the extra plug on the harness is for the starter and the wiring for the oil pressure sender is on the harness thats with the AC Pump stuff on the other side of the motor. I will just have to move the sensor to the other side of the block from where I have it.

A rubber P clamp around the dipstick tube & going into an existing bell housing bolt hole would do the job.

I seriously can't wait to start building my p-pump 6bt... The a442 is being built now with more clutches and an upgraded vb.

I'm not doing twins on it but we shall see what she can handle :). Weakest link is the converter which is being upgraded as well

Well I am literally 1.5" away from having this in place..... But the stock routing of the rear heater hose and y pipe are interfering. Well if you kept the stock metal pipe that goes on the fire wall you might make it but not if you replace it with hose like I tried. I am gonna get the hose out of the way for now then figure it out later.

Well took a bit but I got it in there!
It got a bit rough there for a while, took some creative pushing and prying. Had to take off the back valve cover and spin the rear lift point around to get it in there after I noticed I was bending the heater core port. I might actually be able to pass my heater hose back behind the valve cover.. We'll see.

I did have to cut and lower the cross steering support cross bar. There is about 1/2" gap now after dropping it an inch.

I should be able to get it all buttoned up tomorrow besides the stuff I am waiting for from Dustin.

I did a 1.5" body lift it helped with exhaust routing and the rear heater hose/main heater core placement

I can't find one of the driver side. On my phone I'll have to look my
Computer photo downloads.

But after the engine lifting bracket is remover there is pretty good space I. There.

Looking good the 6bt will be smooth. My idle shack never bothered me before the cruiser is just so refined in comparison to my old jeep

How does he tackle the cruise control? Probably just extend the harness and move the actuator to the driver side

Actually he made a cool little adapter that the throttle cable, cruise cable, trans kickdown cable, and petal cable all attach to with the TPS for the trans controller and it mounts on the fire wall on the PS. Have not got to it yet but looks pretty BA. In the pic its the lower middle part with a cable coming from it.

That does look helpful. Its a tight fit for sure. There is one spot where the bell housing is touching the fire wall.

Right on!

So while under the cruiser this morning I was getting to hooking the torsion bar?! Back up and it hits the bell housing before it gets to the mounts. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do?
