We waved as your pink panty mobile went by us on Kyrene just north of Chandler road a few minutes ago. Looked like you waved back.

The woman asked "Was that a pink thong on his window?" :)

I was on the way home from the wrenchin day, my wave timing may have been a hair late!:o

The wrenchin day went well, was good to BS with everybody and it looked like a bunch of work got done.

It was great meeting the lot of you, and seeing the rest of yuz that I've met before again.

A big THANK YOU to everyone!!

Thanks to Josh and Jason for being wonderful hosts, and thanks to BMAN for gettin on that cooling system like a loose pitbull. Thanks to Jonathan for carrying through the putting it all back together in his ever-so-detailled way. And thanks to Kevin and Jonathan (again) for kicking the s*** out of that gremlin that's been hiding in my wires (bastard!!). And thanks to everyone who lent a hand, shared a laugh, shot the s***, and generally made for a really awesome time for this n00b. As if there was any doubt whatsoever, YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

BTW, last night when I drove home to Glendale, going 80+ mph the whole way, with the AC blasting -- the temp needle never even made it to the first hash mark. It just hovered above the C.:cool::cool:

Sorry I missed out on the fun wrenching...

I wonder if I can fit one of these in my 60 series ARB bumper...

My A/C likes to blow warm air when driving slow on the trails. :( And thats usually when I really want it!

Glad you had a good experience and we got that thing rocked out. It took a whole lot longer than I expected but the couple little hangups didn't help either. I assume you got no check engine lights from that sensor? I also assume that the guage reading is lest than what you're used to seeing at 80mph on the freeway when it 100 outside with the AC blasting? AC any colder than the cool you were getting before?

Yeah it was a b*tch from time to time, I know. Sorry bout that! :o Start to finish I think it was 9:00am to 8:00pm. Yikes.

No check engine light! :D *knock on wood*

And yeah, normally, that ride home would've put the needle about a 1/2 inch from the red.

AC was pretty cold on the way home, and on the way to work this morning. How it does on the way home this afternoon will be the REAL test.

Amazing how that works out, huh? I thought, ok, cut off sliders, clean up frame, move em up an inch, weld on new plates and burn em' in permanant. Should take two hours with the requisite BS during...... I was a little off, I think I started at 8:45, and dropper her off the lift at about a quarter after five...

All in all a good meet, big thanks to Josh and Jason for taking their time on their day off to open up their shop to us!

Not a problem, that's a carpet drying blower, get one hang it on the bumper with some bungees and toss a generator in the back to power it, will fix your issue right up.

Hi Korina! Get that Cruiser ready for 'wheeling! :bounce:

And, sorry Prez, Michael swears the second one is NOT photo-chopped...:grinpimp:

I had forgotten about the meet completely until we saw you on your way home. We ended up spending the weekend in pine. You weren't too late, I caught the wave.

It looks like you guys had fun, I'll have to catch it next time.

In fact, here's the next frame in the sequence...

And, many thanks to Truckwerks for the great work, first on my '40 , then on the K5 :D, and now again for taking on the '40 with the emissions problem

Bah. In the afternoons, the AC blows (quite gently, I might add) vaguely cool-ish air.:frown: Guess I need to get it recharged again.

Also, is it possible that the temperature gauge was not hooked up again? The needle really has not moved at all since Sunday.

I hooked back up all 3 of the sensors that were on the water neck. the temp guage is the one that didn't give me any problems. Does it rest at the bottom and only come up just off of cold after warming up? Or does it not move at all from the cold position?

Hmm... yeah I just went out to have a look, and they all appear to be there and intact. Though I did notice a bolt is missing (the one toward the rear, that also holds a hose bracket to it). Seems to be pretty tight on there, so I guess it's probably not a vital one.

The needle does not move at all. It rests between the top of the "C" and the first hash mark -- whether the ignition is off or on, while driving or idling, of whatever. Very weird.

That's the bolt I noted as MIA before dissasembly. The guage thing is not good though. Are you coming out tonight? I'll take another look at the switches. Wondering if the buggered up sensor is causing problems with the guage. I'm still hunting for a replacement for that sensor for ya.

Howdy! Speakin of tonight, we are scheduled to start the dust storm between 4 and 5 pm tonight, according to the news. Should be plan on an alternate location for the meeting? John

Right! I thought I remembered hearing some mumbling about a missing bolt!

So far, it looks like we're on schedule to get out of work on time tonight. Which means I probably won't be making it out to the meet. :frown: But ya never know, we may foul something up before the day is out.

BMAN- Which one of the 4 are you needing? I just replaced all of mine when I did my cooling system, and I might have the old ones in my spare parts. I also got stuck with buying a wire loom for the 8/87-8/88 3FE. I don't know if that would help either seeing as how scout's is an 89, but if there are problems with the connections they might be able to be spliced in. BTW-does anyone know what the difference's are in the original fj62's compared to those after 8/88?? I know about the engine wire loom and that the AC belt are different and I know the '90 fj62 had the rear seat belts with the shoulder strap to name a few things. It seems to be mostly in the engine compartment.

It's the sensor that screws into the driver's side of the neck. :ike a 21mm head on it or so if I remember right.
