I have a couple leaks under the truck I wouldn't mind taking care of if a lift will make them easier. I believe one is the frequently mentioned arch seal. I'm not sure the lift would make it any easier. I need to get under and do a good cleaning to pinpoint the leaks.

If the lift doesn't help, do we have anyone who has done this before? I've done similar things on other Toyota vehicles but never a 4WD and we have always just pulled the entire motor/transmission assembly out.

If those turn out to be more than a realistic day's work my rear axle bits need to be rebuilt.

The lift is a big help on arch seal job. I have seen this job done in a day. YMMV.

I would love to come up a meet some of the Phoneix Cruiser heads. Problem is that if I go I have to bring the wife and if I bring the wife the chances of hanging out for very long are slim before I get draged out to the Ikea or in and out burger...I may make the trip just to shake hands, check out rigs and such...Any chance I could pick up one of those cool copper state cruisers memberships and a sticker for my gas tank cover then as well?

......I get draged out to the Ikea or in and out burger?

Your in luck, IKEA is only a block or two away........you can drop her off and come back in 6-7 hours to pick her up!:D

cool! not only will I get points for taking her to IKEA but I get to hang out as well. Count me in!

I work @ 90th & Via Linda, (90th / 101) if your anywhere around that part of town I can pick it up and carry it........

There's the love...

AHHH, you are right. I am sad to admit that I have, and did not return the DVD to Phil. I am sorry, I am not worthy.

I must also admit that it did not work in my PC nor DVD player, I was lazy in not reporting this immediately to Phil. Instead I stuck it in my cabinet and let the mind cobwebs pile up.

Maybe it will work in your machine. I will be in Minnesota Wednesday and Thursday, but I could meet up with someone somewhere Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Or, someone could stop by our place in Chandler (south side) to pick it up prior to then.

Once again, sorry.

beat me to it

My 62 makes Exxon feel better about that valdez thing. What is the probability of knockin out some seal/ gasket work in a wrenchin day. I've been following the leak(s) and I am mostly concerned about the lower engine and transfer-case. No tranny fluid is leaking to the outside but I suppose that doesn't mean my transfer-case is not full of ATF.

So would the trip from Tucson be "worth it"? What seals and gaskets should I bring? What prep work should I do before hand?

Any Tucson folks wanna ride up with me?

Oh yeah, I'll re-up my membership while there.....

If the DVD does show up this would work great as I work in North Scottsdale (the place with the London Bus in the lobby that was in the papers). The downside is I may have to hold off for a bit (yes I know what can happen) because my wife's Volvo finally had the tranny go as predicted and I'm looking at $$$$$ for that. Also need to see what's causing a little temp needle creep these past few days (fan clutch I think).

I have some stuff that I can bring if needed;

Midtronics 500 battery/starting/charging system analyzer.

The fluid and stuff to upgrade Toyota fan clutches.

CoolTrak coolant test strips.

Fascar brake fluid test strips.

Extra impacts, air ratchets, grinders, etc.

Big blowers to cool off motors quickly.

And bunches of "other stuff", the point is if you need something to make a job easier post up and someone may have it to bring.
