So who is the go to guy in the club for fabrication, welding, etc... ?

I have a simple receiver hitch that I'd like some angle iron welded on to...

If you have the materials I can melt those together, hopefully without it looking too ugly.

I have the receiver tube but need a source for the angle and gusset... a drill press would be nice also.

If those are pintle hole spacing you can buy that thing off the shelf... or on-line and delivered by the brown guy.

I've looked at the three or four that are available on line... MAF, Mark's, CCOT, etc... all would probably work fine but I have a Yakima bike rack that if too close to the bumper would interfere with the spare tire. The one designed above is extended further aft to clear the tire.

Remember, that the farther out the less it can carry...................not saying its not a good idea, just saying that it won't be good for much more than that bike rack!!!!

It's out 5.5" from the frame/bumper... continues under and is bolted to the bottom...

Just thinking out loud, would something like this work for your application, in case you haven't seen it already.....Slee - 2" Receivers For the 80 series, this is a plug N play due to the four holes with captive nuts already present on the rear cross member. I'm not sure if the 40's have similar holes but if not, easy enough to drill four holes and use nuts/bolts.

Of course, it would be a whole lot cheaper to just make what you want.

I saw that one also and liked that it bolted to the bottom but it's pretty short.

Kind of fun messing around with different ideas.

Easier solution?

I took a look at the hitch that came with the cruiser... I originally thought that it was usable.

But with a little clean up and maybe add a center web, it might be an easier solution!

Updated hitch...

Fill in some holes, trim back the bottom, add a center gusset and some holes for the safety chain...

Will you have enough room for the chains through the bottom flange? How about holes in the outer side flanges for the chains?
