Very nice!
I miss those days when i had the garage all to myself... sigh...now its filled with boxes or xmas crap and stuff that hasent seen the light of day in years and for some reason im not allowed to get rid of them!
Looks good AZ!! I've been working on mine lately as well. We just got a third vehicle and I wanted them all to be in the garage- this meant shelving was needed.
All in all I added more that 100 sq ft of shelving for around $150.
Blurry pic of my workbench. This is now in front of the Rav4 with plenty of room.
I like the floor coating you have- What are the details? Epoxy, paint, brand etc.?
Putting everything up in the ceiling area makes a world of difference (until you need it down) and gives a lot of room on the floor.
Just after the house was built I was looking at those cabinets and had the garage all laid out on my computer using these pics
Found my price online and had the Epoxy paint all picked out. That weekend we went to a home show and the first booth I came to had these cabinets on sale and displayed. This was the first time I seen them in person and not on the computer. The guy tried selling them to me and I told him my plans.
He told me with "Epoxy" type paint if the sun shines on it for any length of time it will fade and when you drive at highway speeds and then pull into the garage the tires will be really hot (especially in Arizona) and "if" you rotate the tires at all (I have to in order to get the LC in) the paint has been known to "pop" loose from the concrete and buckle. He was also trying to sell me the floor finish as well as the cabinets.
I figured he was just trying to make a sale and moved on. Every booth in the show had the same story about Epoxy paint. I went back to the first booth and in the end I got the floor done for $250 more than what I would have done it myself for (saved my 3 days of work) and got a 3 year warranty!! It is industrial chemicals used for the floor and require a license to purchase (only details I have, sorry). In the end I got a smoking deal on the cabinets (he beat the online price), the floor and the overhead storage "if" i gave him permission to use my garage for his portfolio for his web site!
You are welcome to come by any time and take a look. When I went to buy I was going to by those overheads from HyLoft and do it myself. The guy I was buying from said with a garage like I am planning I should go with the heavy duty overheads. I asked about the price and about messed on myself when he told me. I ask why so high (3 years ago, I do not remember pricing) and he said that in order to get the warranty the manufacturer required them to be installed professionally and the price included installation. I told him I would have to be stupid to pay that price. He was set on using my garage for his portfolio so he gave me 3 for the price of 2 and the overall savings for the cabinets and the flooring I could not say no. They are very heavy duty.
