Anyone running 265/75/16 (31.6x10.4) or 285/75/16 (32.8x11.2) on City Racer Rims?
My rig has 2.5inch HFS lift. Definitely want to go bigger than 235/85/16. Still haven’t decide which tire but leaning towards BFG KM3. Hoping to order Wednesday and have installed next Saturday.

Keep in mind it sounds like general consensus is the KM3 runs WAY small to advertised size. I’m running 7.5R16 KM3’s which should be roughly 32” tall, and they measure out to be around 30.5” on the truck. Otherwise they’ve been fantastic tires, on and off-road.

Not sure if it’s just the 7.5’s that run small or if they run undersize across the whole range but something to consider.

Here is mine on City Racer 16” wheels, 2.5” OME lift, and 7.5R16 KM3’s.

I have that tire on the OddBall 80 and it’s true measurement on Summit Smooth Vintique is

32,5” tall and 11” wide at 32#

Basically the same height as my 255/85-16 just 1” wider

Thank you for responses guys. Nolan how wide is the summit smooth vintique wheel?

Well guys. I had the tire store I deal with set to put on BFG MT KM3 265/75/16s tomorrow but rereading all of the tire information has me changing my mind since the BFGs run small.
Problem is 255/85/16s are on back order and the only two other brands they can get in this size are Toyo MT and Falken MT. I live near a city with more tire stores however we have a bridge out due to Hurricane Sally and one way trip is an hour. I’m not interested in that route. 🤷🏼
Any experience with Toyo or Falken?

I’m running the Toyo open country mt in 235/85/16 and really dig ‘em. I know they’re a bit heavy, but they are stout. My rig is primarily for trail and I have a lot of confidence in the tires.

That would work. Tire store wasnt able to get them. I could order on tire rack and then have them mounted.

They do not want to mount an 11 inch tire on a 5.5 inch rim

Crazy....called BFG....they are several months out from having more.
My tire store could only find 4 Yokohama 255/85/16 nationally.
Ordered 5 Toyo open country MTs 255/85/16 which will be mounted next week.
Thanks for the input guys.

I'm running the Yokohama 255s on 70 series wagon wheels. I keep playing with lower tire pressures trying to get a softer ride and more tread contact. Seems like 22psi all around does pretty well. I can air down to 12 off road and the sidewalls don't seem to flex much.

5 years and 25K miles later my set of G003 are mostly worn out. I’ve been really happy with them and having a new set put on tomorrow. They have had much more road noise the 3K miles. I could have gotten another 5K miles out of them if I did a 5 tire rotation or have been nicer to them. There is no real sign of cracking or UV deterioration, which usually gets me.

I forgot how quiet these are new. I promise this time not to abuse my tires this time

I just mounted up a new set of 255/85/16s on my FJ60. I think this is the 4th set of G003s that I've had and generally get ca. 35-40k out of them.

That is good to hear. I was not very kind to these tires. I was lax on rotations, did not include the spare and ran at lower pressures more often than I should have. I really do like these tires. They perform so well in the rocky/loose shale trails.

My impression after having run 4 sets through all types of road and terrain, interstate, 2 lane, back road, dirt/gravel county roads, logging roads, sand, mud, rock in Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Louisiana, New Mexico, Arizona is that these Yokohamas are good for most conditions but excel at nothing, much like a Land Cruiser. For myself Yokohama >> BFG.
