cig lighter ? (1 Viewer)

So my cigarette lighter plug thing is missing. I don't smoke or anything but it just bothers me having a hole there. I feel incomplete. Can I just pick a generic one up from an auto parts store? Seems like a dumb question, but when I did that with my old Tahoe it blew the fuses for the lights in my dash. The guys at the shop said I needed a factory cig lighter to plug in. So I just wanted to check and make sure I wouldn't blow anything but just sticking a generic plug in there.

if you are nto a smoker just find soemthign more useful to fill the hole,

soemthing like this Copilot map light might be handy (scroll down). though an LED version woudl be more effecient.

Since you don't smoke, why not just plug in one of those fake cig lighter plugs - doesn't glow etc - just fills the hole and looks OEM.

nice I think i'll do that. I like those map light things but I want a little more cleaner look then something with a long arm sticking out there

Th answer to your question is yes, if you want a cig lighter in the hole, but one at an autoparts store and plug it in.
