Christmas Tree Run, Dec 3rd! (2 Viewers)

Official 2011 Christmas Tree Run will be on Saturday, December 3rd.

This is usually an easy all-day event that is friendly to trucks with stock suspensions. It's a great getaway for the family. I would assume the standard meeting place will be at the 'North Portal', the gas station at the SE corner of HWY 550 and 528 in Rio Rancho / Bernalillo.

The standard procedure is to meet at the 'North Portal' gathering point. Then drive to the Walatowa visitor center in the Jemez to procure permits. Lastly, there is often a rendezvous with SF/Espanola folks at the La Cueva store at the intersection of HWY 4 and HWY 126.

I will not be able to attend.

...we set the tree run for Saturday December 3rd.

Dec meeting/party- Sunday Dec 11th at Kieth and Han's.

we can set up a November run here on the board.

we set it that first weekend so there was time before the holidays to enjoy the trees. we did also set it with very few people at the meeting. any thoughts/consensus is welcome.

I am planning to go. I am free on Dec 3rd and already added that date to the calendar when you posted it in the meeting minutes thread. I might be able to go other dates if someone would firm something up. The 27th and 11th are not good dates for me.

I can go on Dec 3rd or Dec 10th. Dec 11th is not a good day for the tree run because I plan to go to the club Christmas party at Keith & Han's.

We've done Jemez ever since I moved here (almost 5 years now).

Change of location maybe? Mt. Taylor possibly? I've been doing some exploring up there and I can lead us on a cool trail to get us up there the back side utilizing FR400 off of RT.66

Anyway, just an idea.

The nice thing about the Jemez is they are close. Mt Taylor not so much especially for those in Santa Fe and LA.
