Well I wanted to give you all an ending to the story. I bought a 2016 4wd Limited Tundra TRD Off Road in Magnetic Gray yesterday. After looking at many LC I felt a new Tundra for much less money was a better fit for my life. I'm going to add a nice snugtop or leer cap and have a great truck for future adventures! Thanks for everyone help.
Years ago, I bought the first year Sequoia. Put on a lift kit, bigger tires & wheels.
I never got used to that rig. Like one of the previous writers posted, it never felt like a LC. The quality just wasn't there.
After a year of unhappiness, I bought a used '99 LC with 60,000 miles.
Over the years it had a OME kit installed and larger tires (original wheels). At 150,000 miles I spent
$7,000 a new interior, sound, etc.
Loved that truck.
When I hit 200k I was offered a 2000 LX that had been owned by family friends since new. Super condition, never seen a dirt road and only had 75,000 miles. I used that car for a year, liked it, never loved, it.
Then started my months long debate, new 4x4 Tundra 1784 or a used LC. ($85k just stretched the budget a bit much.)
I had a couple hours the other day and cruised the net. I came across a 2013 with 30,000 miles, certified, from a midwest Toyota dealer.
We settled on $55k with a 125k/8 year full factory warranty.
I bought it sight unseen, ordered new 17" TRD wheels and tires.
It's to be delivered to my office next Monday.
I have a strange feeling that another 10+ year love affair is about to begin!

It sounds like LC area easier to find in great condition in other parts of the country. I looked it approx 10 of them and they all had high mileage and the beginnings of rust. The final straw was a 600 mile round trip for a "perfect" 2013 that looked like it had been lived in, need rear brakes, front sonars did not work and made a strange noise from the center diff. I have a family member that works for Toyota and was able to uses one of his family no haggle discounts on the Tundra. I think in my area you just have too luck into the right LC. I will tow and haul with the Tundra which I believe will make it a better platform for me. If I can post a picture I will!

Interesting, and ya...I think you're right...because here on the West Coast...it's not hard to find used LCs that are squeaky clean. No salt on roads...and soon many LA area drive them but never take them off road. My 2008 I bought this year was SO clean than even the white, paper, bar-coded part stickers on the user carriage weren't even soiled, soggy, or off-white. Not sure what this person did with this Cruiser besides leave it in the garage for 7 years!
