Does Anyone no where to find a choke return spring for A 73 fj40? also how do I find the month it was manufactured for a carburetor replacement if necessary?

By choke return spring do you mean the one at the very top rear of the airhorn?
This one?

If what @Pighead has pictured is what you’re looking for, glad to donate one with a qualifying order. @martymart left me a bunch of random parts that won’t make a carb, but will serve to rehab several others. I just pulled one of the retainer screws next that spring off an otherwise unusable air horn to finish a carb I got from @kevos37 .

Yes, it is the part I am looking at. I just got a 73 fj40. It arrived with broken return spring on the choke. I have an asian 2bbl w/ date code 2 H 12. It has a spring on the inside of the mechanism as well as the outside. I suspect something fishy..I did not see them on a rebuild kit.

Springs are not a part of any rebuild kit that I'm aware of. That means you'll have to find one on another carb and swap over or replace the carb.
