The choke cable on my 74 FJ40 is sticking and very tight no matter what I do to it. From my research, 72-75 had the same cable and they are NLA. City racer sells one that fits 1976-1980 models.

Can someone tell me if the later choke cable will work in the 1974? Thanks!

Here are some pictures of the Landcruiser for reference.

What have you done to it so far? Oftentimes, taking it apart and putting it back together, with some cleaning and lubrication, fixes those.

Yes I had it out before and oiled and worked it back and forth. Maybe need to soak with PB blaster as JohnnyC suggests to loosen up any rust. It does move but with some resistance. Then when I install it with the curve bend to the carb, it’s gets more stiff. The carb choke moves easily so it’s the cable.
