.. I've been very impressed with my Vortec/H55 setup. ..Josh

What clutch are you running with it and how many kms has it done, Josh ? I have UZVVT-i fever badly ... :bounce:

Thanks guys, all good information. I really don't want to make up a special clutch pack, like Sadam did. I think, before I buy the motor, I better find out what flywheel and clutch parts will work, exactly.

we put an LS1 flywheel on my engine and it all bolted up ok, my other truck runs an old 350 and I put a centreforce pressure plate with dual friction clutch plate into it and I'm quite happy with its performance

I'm running the clutch which Advance Adapters recommends, but I don't have the details to hand. It has worked really well so far (touch wood) with about 35,000 miles on it so far - much of that towing a trailer and about 1200 miles of it towing an FJ40.

If you put a UZVVT in you LX I will be jealous and sad in equal amounts.:D

Thanks guys, Georg @ Valley Hybrids has got me on track. I'm calling AA tomorrow, again and get what I need. If I can buy all the right clutch parts, flywheeel, etc., then I'm going through with this setup. H55 5 speed to the 5.3 vortec. I don't want to make up one of a kind stuff, I did that once, thirty years ago. That was pre-internet :bang:

That is very good !

PS:In that case you better get ready to be jealous and sad then :grinpimp:

I talked to Matt at Advanced Adapters. He said, no problem. Use part # 712500P- Flywheel kit, with the 5.3 to H55. Also can use either AA bellhousing kit or the Marks kit. The flywheel kit comes with all the clutch pieces. I'm not sure which motor mounts I'll use, I'm working off a bare frame, no mounts at all.

Thanks, Ron

Edit- Flywheel kit # might be 712500T, I'll call to make sure, I can't find the 712500P listed
