Hey Guys,
Just checking in, halfway done with my job here in Houston. I don't have access to the internet, so I have to force myself to go to WiFi hotspots, which I don't do very often. I have met the local cruiser club and they are a great bunch, something about cruisers. Those guys know how to BBQ!

On a sad note, I have finally passed into that stage of life I have dreaded, "mini-van owner". Thankfully, my wife did it while I was out of town. Someday the kids will grow-up and leave and we can get rid of it, but it is pretty sad either way.

I have to say so far, summer in Tucson is far worse than here in Houston. I know it will get worse, but these people don't quite get how hot it is in AZ. Looking forward to getting back in August with fists full of pesos!

I just came back from Oklahoma, visiting family. They are all crying about the high temps- at 97 degrees. When I tell them how good they have it, they feel obliged to remind me that Arizona has a 'dry heat'. I used to try to enlighten them, now I just nod and move on.

I hate the heat debate, I really hate heat index's..... I mean everywhere else in the country the heat index is hotter then the actaul outside temp but here in AZ the heat index is lower the then actual temp WTF.. The the Phx area temp is taken in the middle of a dirt field 10 foot off the ground and in the shade for chist sake!!! I know humidity sucks and it can make it hard to cool off well you know what, so does 110 degree weather!!!!!

Yeah, it's 110 but it doesn't really feel like it's 110. IT'S 110 FER CHRISSAKES. THIS IS WHAT 110 FEELS LIKE. FREAKING HOT.

-Spike (Don't get me going.)

Howdy! True temperature readings are done with skin, not thermometers. When the fender you are leaning on feels hotter than the running radiator your hand is resting on, then you must be in ARIZONA! John

I once worked half a summer in Phoenix and Tucson, and the second half in Chicago while they were having that crazy heat wave where the bluehairs were kicking off left and right. We worked 5am-2pm in AZ and it was sucking the life out of me. I would get off, then shower, dinner, bed.
In Chicago we worked 7am-7pm, 6 days a week and went out almost everynight. And I was never once as beat as I was in AZ.
