Its that time again for our Charlotte area meeting

For those that are new or don't know we hold local meetings in the area's we cover every month. We do this for ones that haven't been to a major event can come out and meet some of the local guys to them.
We understand that life is busy and getting away from work, house work, and family obligations can be hard to drive 3+ hours round trip out to the closest trails and then 6+ hours of trail work or wheeling can be very hard to squeeze in. This is why we do these closer get togethers to limit the driving time to under 1 hour round trip and time away from family and work to under 3-4 hours. Its a great way to meet club members and strike up the type of connections that make this club great. We also Generally hold these on Sunday because we know many of our members do have to work on saturdays and in the afternoon so members that go to church can still do so in the morning.

We generally meet at a local restaurant or bar (but has to have good food) that has a large parking lot for us all to park close together.

So come on out if you never had or if your time is limited to have a great time for a few hours

I'm in

Wha? No you didn't!
I'd rather not say who's on crutches, but Sarah has had plenty of time to ponder her mistake since yesterday. Whoops, were's the delete key? A bunch of stitches and lots of luck. Nothing broken. A partial cut of one tendon. Massive bruise. One sliced up shoe. I'll say this --- the prepackaged first aid kit we had available (we weren't at home) was COMPLETELY USELESS for a wound of that size. The kit I put together to keep in the 80 saved the day. Check your gear, people. Make sure you have 4"x4" pads, more than 12" of gauze roll and plenty of 1" tape or stretch wrap - among other things. If the kit fits in the glovebox THEN IT ISN'T ENOUGH.

:hillbilly:so I take it the camping trip went well????

glad to hear it isn't too serious :)

I am out for this one :(

I hope to be there.

Oh crap, sorry to hear that John, hope she is not in much pain.

I will try to make the meeting, Sunday afternoons are a lot harder to get away for me than Sunday mornings. But will see if I can sneak out.

Lots and lots of pain. Even if the axe didn't bury itself too deep, it's still like hitting the foot with a sledgehammer. The bruise continues to grow. The orthopedist put a new layer of fear in us today.

Could've gone down like this:
Dr: This looks pretty good. You guys are lucky.
Us: That's a relief. Thanks, doc.
Dr: Wait...your insurance is awesome.
Us: What does that mean?
Dr: MRI. CT. Special boot. 2-4 times longer recovery than ER said. Unless you don't want us to do what you need to get you back to normal, if that is even possible. The surgeon might need to open you up again to have a look and give us his opinion.

Sounds eerily familiar to things we heard last August. Best wishes to Sarah for a rapid recovery. Let the Orthopods do what they need to. I can unequivocally state that they can do magic ...

Sorry to hear John, please give Sarah our best.

Given my schedule betwen now and Hurricane Creek, I've got to focus on the LV this weekend. Of the biggest items on my to-do list, I hope to get the fenders, aprons and hood back from the body guy and start the faux-tina process; get the driver side Aisin hub off, cleaned and back in working order; finish the rebuild of the parking brake Brad and I started; and install an RPM gauge. I still have some of those CA specialty beers so perhaps one of you guys will swing by and supervise.

John - Wishing Sarah a speedy recovery. Glad it wasn't worse.

there seems to be a lot of people not going should we change to next sunday?

The time is the killer for me, either day. Don't know about others, but earlier is a lot easier, the earlier the better to not conflict with family and kids stuff. But that's just me, Sunday after next is Father's Day, there will be commitments made....
