With more than a few folks in the club enjoying firearms and hunting, I thought I would post a notice about the Charlotte-Metrolina Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation's annual banquet.
Our banquet is being held August 2 at the Speedway Club at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This is our annual fundraiser for the foundations primary goals that include habitat conservation for elk and public lands access. We have a quite extensive raffle, silent auction and live auction at the event. This year, we have 11+ firearms on the raffle and auction, several custom knives, camping gear, some nice artwork, 2 (possibly 3) Yeti 65 coolers - one with 5 cases of suds
. We also have a few hunts on the auction including a New Mexico elk hunt (zone 52 for those interested) and an African Safari for 2 (this usually goes for a very reasonable price). There are also some jewelry items for
.
What does it cost: A couple attends for $135. This includes two meals at the Speedway Club and an open bar. Because of the generosity of one of our Sponsor Members, beer and wine are included in the ticket price at no additional cost
- soft drinks are cash bar.
A note about RMEF. The foundation stands on the same side of land access issues as we (motorized off-highway recreation enthusiasts) do: RMEF is not anti-motorized access. The foundation has a four star rating from Charity Navigator and spends 90% of its budget on it's primary mission.
Please consider coming to the banquet and helping us celebrate the foundation's 30th anniversary.
PM me if you have any questions. I have attached a preliminary flyer (it does not list all the items up for auction). Tickets can be purchased online at https://events.rmef.org/!ARU
TIME We had a little snafu on the website. The correct time for the banquet is 5PM ... by 7, we should be into the live auction ...
