Come to think of it we have 6 neighbours and I don't talk to only one of them as they are scumy pot smokers and grafetti artist others are retired couples or old friends. I have six neighbours because we have a double size house block so it goes from one street to the one behind plenty of room

Another couple of days of good weather and I have Painted the ute all one colour now but I noticed some new dents to fixe so I have started on that and I will have to recoat it but I am happy with the paint this time

We'll I reinstalled the wiring harness today and started on the repair of the rear harness that goes to the tail lights but I am not sure if it was out of this ute I think it is from a newer model what are your thoughts

First image is wire colour is this 40 series and I'm was sure this was were it was cut off near fire wall like my main harness thought they connected
image.webp

There is a few metres of wiring and other plugs then this main plug
image.webp

Other end of the plug pretty sure this is tail lights as it splits off and has led adapters on it and must have number plate light and stuff as we'll lots of wires on it my question is is it from a 40 series

Chappo this is off my 1980 hj45 tail light wiring harness. I checked the whole harness and there were no plugs that resembled that blue male plug.

Oz if you look on the ground to the left of your hand in that pic the is a big oval plug I had one of them in a spare parts box that came with the ute so I'm thinking the po pulled the harness I have off another vehicle to use instead the old one must have been bad I we'll I will either use the one I have it make a new one

I also restored my steering column today with a new bearing and paint job made one good steering column and have spare parts for one identical out of 6 old one I had laying around

Yeah it's pretty bad have a better spare I am going to install

I ran 75% corrosive inhibitor to water (water in radiator looked bright green), have not touched the radiator water in 6 years in the current 2H and it is as good as the day I filled it. No rust at all.

Have been told the red is even better, so do the same because these motors are nearly 30 years old?
