We'll it finally stoped raining for a day so I finished painting my fuel tank and knocked some of the dents out of it and put it back under the cab and put the cab the right way up next step is to pull the engine to clean the frame and paint it and the diff
 
So I had an hour spare today to go and stand in the humidity but I started removing
Engine parts so most hoses and accessories are now removed
With the turbo crossover pipes the oil runs the ought hem to lube the turbo buy there is also oil in the intake manifold is this bad

If your running the engine breather into the air cleaner that would be where the oil could be coming from. The seal in the turbo could also cause oil in the manifold but my guess it will be the breather.
 
Today I finally thought I would look for my vin/ frame number well I found it after a while it was under neath my power steering box what a pain of a spot for when I register it I would have to take the box off so they can see the vin

I also drained the water fuel seperator I have never seen black diesel before

Is the steering box from a 70 series?
 
I am not sure what model it is off I would say early 75 series
 
Been awhile today I got the centre park brake off the transfer case and I will rebuild it tomorrow if it's not raining.
Drained the oil out of the transfer case and gearbox it looked pretty new still but the gearbox had what looked like water in the bottom it was the first liquid to come out if the drain plug wasn't much but still oil looked alright

Definitely tastes funny had some on my hands still when I had tea horrible
 
There was a fair few years of oil brake pad dust and mud in the centre hand brake it was filthy but I pulled it all off and degreased it and then painted it will put in new hardware tomorrow and post some pics
 
Here are the pics of the newly rebuilt centre transmission park brake and I also got the transfer case ready for paint

nice work on the park brake chappo :) i have a transfer case mounted park too, but mine is missing all the internals. any ideas as to what should all be there?
 
Hi mate here are a couple of pics of what should be in there. You could probably get a second hand adjuster. The rest you can buy new if you want a park brake

I washed another 10 kg + of mud out of the chassis it hides in Odd spots
 
Sanded and did some prep on the cab yesterday got the firewall done and painted in 6L4 olive green looks good

Started to pull the motor apart today got the turbo and exhaust manifold off intake manifold and fuel injector lines plus edic and starter motor and clutch slave cylinder off. Know the engine need a good clean and coat of paint.

Pulled the bus bar off the glow plugs and one of the internal came out it was really old and rusty
