What’s everyone running for a cellphone mount?

I want something that’s positioned well for nav while using OnX while off-roading. Don’t need integral charging, but needs to be rugged enough to handle the shaking of rough trails. Don’t want a vent mount. Am willing to consider drilling plastic for the right setup.

Show me your setups and what you like/don’t like!

Thanks for sharing! I like the RAM mount but I don’t think they had one for the 100 series? I’d have to jerry rig their generic one to work.

For the quad lock do you guys use the windshield mount? Any issues with it falling off during the summer or overheating while charging?

I use the small adhesive mount, as the suction model I wanted was out of stock when I bought mine. I was worried about summer heat being just adhesive, but have had no issues with it loosening or moving/shifting as a result. Even while moving with the phone mounted, the heat seemed to have no effect.

For a cell phone mount, I use @BenCC's Change Pocket RAM Ball Base Mount with an arm extension and a RAM iPhone mount to cradle the phone.

An Anker car charger plugged into the cigarette lighter is used for power.

I’ve used this one for years and 1000’s of miles on dirt and trails… found it recommended by motorcycle guys and it’s been awesome.

I use it with a RAM mount suction mount.

Only issue I have is it will split most cases after a few years as the clamp is stout. I would buy it again without hesitation.

i sit mine in cup holder - i’ve not found a suitable mount but hope someone will eventually make one.

I floated this question in an LXOR group on FB and someone recommended this setup:

I really like the idea of a solidly anchored mount high on the dash but not above the dash line. It anchors into the cassette area.

I use a Peak Design magnetic mount, attached to the blank panel on the passenger side. The magnet holds stronger than the panel does, but if you are really looking for an end game mount, I’d go with a clipped ram mount version and one of @BenCC’s inserts. This is likely the most expensive but arguably the slickest option, especially if you run your power from behind the panel for wireless charging.

Made use of the useless CD player. Very stable phone has been rock solid on the mount. It’s a ball mount for the magnet base. I found a magnetic charger that also uses a ball mount so will swap them out. All in and less than $50 after I add the mag charger.

I've used these Schosche magnetic mounts in several cars. They use either the phone's magnet or the supplied very thin magnetic plate that slips into the phone case. And apparently, the guy at Toyota in charge of designing the 100's dashboard was planning ahead - and left a perfect spot for one of these.
