Ya, im pretty much SOL... cant find the darn clip. Anyone have any ideas where I might find one?

The tip on the solenoid is about a 1/4" long. Not sure how long it should be.
Is that retainer shaped kinda like a capital G? Man, if that is the clip I will be a happy man...

Heres a closer up of the pin in the solenoid
Looks like it's cut at an angle at the end in this pic. Is that right?

If it's cut, you might as well cut it off completely. Then you don't have to worry about wiring it. Hopefully your rebuild solves the problem.
And be careful, one of the "gents" isn't.

Got the clip from toyota today. $4 out the door. Was just a little big, just had to cut a very small piece off and went in. Got it all back in and assembled. Hope tomorrow is a happy day...
Pin Head, loved your videos man, thanks for posting those. One question thought. The insulator on mine doesnt have a bonded gasket. Dont know how it was working before without it. I put a bunch of gasket maker down there. Think that will do it? I found a place in florida that sells just the insulater

Yes, the carb base and the manifold have to seal at the insulator, so if you do not have the bonded gaskets, you either need to get a kit that has the gaskets or use some kind of sealer. You don't want to use any liquid sealer in the carb itself.

Okay cool. Kit came with that plenum gasket. Got it up and running today. Drove it on the highway and through town... thank the Lord. The only issue seems to be coming off idle, it hesitates for a half second and then is fine. Same issue letting off then accwlerating again. Hesitates then fine. Im sure its just a minor adjustment. open to suggestions, if you have any.

I have a question for you.... I live in nicaragua and I purchased a used card and my mechanic "rebuilt" it, but I can clearly see liquid sealer on the top plate as well as at the manifold.... Should I be worried? I also posted a question about using liquid gasket for the manifold and block connection, your advice would be appreciated!
Liquid sealers probably won't last on the manifold to head conection because of the heat; especially on the exhaust runners.
A little bit on the carb base may not be a problem, but if it covers the vacuum hole in the center bolt, it will be a problem.
