Its the news that none of us wanted, but most of us expected. As this was being my last year in California, to say that I was looking forward to this trip was an understatement. But its all good, still going wheeling, still have 13 days taken off to explore. Big shoutout to the people behind the scenes that worked their asses off to try to make this happen. There is always next year, assuming the murder hornets don't get us.

Just lead a group
Through . It was great up
There. Really quite. Can’t wait to see some of you in a few weeks

I got very close but backed out since i had no spotter . i then spotted the Blue FJ up , there is a video on instagram . I was also on my 4th CV in a week and really did not want to push is at that point . RCV axles have been ordered and a set of Beadlock wheels .

did you carry that many CV spares?!

did you carry that many CV spares?!
No. I put 2 new CVJ axles on just before i left and had 1 new oem . I broke 1 cvj doing nothing Then had a sway bar link take out the boot of the other . I then bought a Import direct from Orielys It lasted about a hour on Fordyce . They exchanged it no issues . When i started in on the Rubicon i had 2 new spares just in case and i broke 1 . I have never broke a cv up until this trip and i am not hard at all on the gas . When i broke on the Rubicon it broke at the tire side on a oem cv . when i got home i pulled it all apart because it took out my wheel speed sensor . What i did not know was it took out my front wheel bearing as well . still drove fine and no looseness or anything but the bearing was destroyed . All fixed now and RCV axles have been ordered .

I did get up Widow Maker in Moab and that was a 4 wheel burn with no issues . I think when i broke all 4 i was at full drop and they just did not like the drop .

Do you plan on starting in on Tue ? or Wed

Gonna meets some folks at Loon on Tuesday and start in, likely after noon. They're going in earlier and coming back out to escort us in.
Tuesday is a little early for me. My kids B-day is the Monday, as well as their "first day of school" hence the later departure for me. I am thinking I could get to Loon Lake Wednesday and then head in on Thursday. Anyone else have that timeframe. This will be the first year through the Rubicon for me, but not for my rig.

when you heading in. Looking to tag along with a group so I am not going through by myself.

I already did trail a week ago. Took us two days.

If you do not find anyone shot me a PM i dont mind running in with someone

I ended up blasting out to Tahoe from Ouray and running the trail reverse from Tahoe to Loon.
I would have gotten it done in a day but I had to wait three hours for 150 jeeps to climb Cadillac first to exit from their Secret Jeep Jamboree.
I blew my rear diff just after the Springs but was able too cobble it into a semi workable open diff that I used to finish the trail.
I also ripped a motor mount off the frame and was able to I get the that welded up along with the hole in the rear axle by the nice guys from RTF. @pardion brought me a fresh third to the Loon parking lot the next morning.
I had a great time.
