After searching MUD and the Tech section I was surprised to see that there seem to be only four schematics floating around on MUD.

Chris Kautariiey posted a 1971 schematic: This is the schematic I have worked on extensively and have it in two versions: One cleaned up, several errors corrected, and color codes added to both wire ends to make it easier to trace, and one cleaned up and the trailer wiring and headlight terminal strips eliminated for easier reading. I would like to see these two schematics added to the Tech section. They seem to cover 69-E/74.

Jason Peters posted an absolutely cool 1978 acrobat schematic.

John Holmaas posted a 1960's era schematic

Some one posted a FJ60 multi-page schematic.

In addition I have in my possession, courtesy of other MUD members, or my 1971 manual the following:

1960's/early 70's Wiring Harness manual (This is cool). JPG format pics
1972/73 FJ55V Australia schematic. TIFF format
1981 BJ42, BJ43, HJ47 schematic. PDF format
1983 Wiring manual for mini-truck, FJ40, FJ60. PDF format
1988 FJ60 (slightly blurry) schematic. GIF format pics

I'm sure most would truly appreciate if everyone who has a good schematic could get it scanned and posted/hosted here on MUD. If you don't have a scanner, take it to Kinko's or just about anyplace that does printing and have it scanned into JPEG or TIFF format. OR send it to me, I will scan it, post it and return your original unharmed. Foreign schematics would also be cool.

Schematics

Great idea getting them all together, I'll leave out the ones I scribbled in Paint:o

as you know I have a 71 and that's covered but I am searchin the net also

I ordered a 2f FSM--that might have something good when it comes?

Here are some pictures I took of my '77 Toyota wiring diagrams. The diagram was identical to what I found in my '78 Fj40.

I took pictures because my scanner is only 8.5x11"
Picasa Web Albums - Todd - '77 fj40 & FJ...

Thanks Todd, I'll compare these to the 78 pdf file I have. If they match 100% I'll post that up and we could change the name of the file here on MUD to 78-80 so folks will know.

Schematics

After you find the schematic for your rig take it to Kinkos or some other place like that and have it enlarged to 2'X4'. Makes tracing the wires ez

Coolerman,

I printed your wiring schematics out on a large plotter, however I still can't read the individual wires. I even increased the resolution to 1200. Do you have a better original to send?

Thanks,

Joe

Picked up a schematic from these folks:

SCHEMATIC <---- this is a link

While it is for the 1960-1971 Land Cruiser, they are very clear and you can get them in three different sizes, all laminated.

Charlie-

Very nice on that schematic.

Yes.

There are many things that are not the same.

Turn signal wiring is different for starters....

Pick up a factory service manual....

Are these colorized, re-drawn copies, of the FSM schematics or just generic, close enough for guvment work, drawings? I see these on E-Bay all the time... If they are good I'll order one.

The piece that I was shipped seems to follow the FSM, other than the generic drawings of headlamp and other components they add...and the fact that you can read/see the color of the wires. ;)

I have purchased them for my 1963 Belair and 1961 Impala as well and they are spot-on.
