1999 lx470
28000 miles
Looks to be in good exterior and interior condtion.
No nav
Still has running boards attached
Does not appear to be off road but have not had a chance for visual

Asking price - $19000

Is this too much? Seems high but the low miles might be nice

Thanks

If it's going to be a street/town rig then maybe those low miles are worth a premium, but if it's going to serve offroad duty then I wouldn't pay the premium. Even with 100k more it'd still be a young truck. And by saving $3-4k you'd have funds ready to start some mods....

Look at it this way. I'll sell you a 99 Land Cruiser with 144,000 miles with about $8,000.00 worth of stuff and upgrades and never been off road for the same price. All you have to do is add a rear bumper. Is 100,000 miles worth $9-10,000.00?

Too much, IMHO.

I'm going to try this again in a different format;

06' Land Cruiser (gray exterior and stone interior w\black trim, and navigation) @100K mi
Clean carfax and maintenance records on 2nd owner
Needs timing belt but the rig is very clean

Owner is asking around $24k. Is this a fair price?

I'd buy that today if it were near me! Heck, get him to come down by $1,500 for the t-belt and you'd have the deal of the decade!

So seriously, post the link so that I can beat you to it! No really, I'm serious post the link!

For reference, I thought this was actually not a bad starting point for a dealer. 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser BASE 4 wheel drive Sport Utility

+ eleventy billion. Buy it. As in now. :) Make sure you see it in person, make sure there's nothing wrong with it, drives OK, paintwork, etc. And then buy it.

Hey guys, would you avoid the 98/99 for a snow and Utah expedition rig. About 99% of its life will be pavement/ driving to the mountains for skiing. 15 percent of that will be in the snow but on roads.

The other 1% is offroading trails in Moab, Escalante, but nothing more than a 2 out of 5.

Plans, 2 inch lift, ARB/TJM front, winch in the distant future, rear tire carrier, 33's, RTT distant future.

Do all the 2 pinion diffs like to fail, I drive very easily offroad btw. Also, I would be getting an ARB locker in the front to strengthen if need be but what is the price + install?

Thanks

For mostly on road driving, especially in the snow I'd suggest a 2000+ because of the stability control.

Oh h**l yes, that is a pretty good price, assuming the rig is in good shape. I paid several G more for my '06 in September with a hair less than 80,000 miles on it. Granted I bought from a dealer and was having to beat the offshore buyers who buy these and export them post haste ...

I've had that happen to me a few times. I hear a lot of Nigerians. What's the deal with that?

In the middle east, these things are as common as honda civics...and are treated like garbage. American cars/SUVs in the "luxury" class (like the LC/LX) are generally purchased by people who rarely drive them and have the means to take proper care of them. Also, US market vehicles come with pretty much every option as standard - theres no "base" model like overseas.

All things that fetch a premium price overseas.

What do you guys think of a 02 w/160k for $16k nav+ no tow pkg?

Depending on if it needs any work or not it could be a good deal. I'm picking up a 2001 LX with 137k miles for 14.8k but it needs about 2k in maintenance. NADA was 19200 for a clean car.

Hopefully first post of many...

What's fair on a 2002, 200k, one owner, towing package, never off road, all maint done on schedule at dealer. Drive seat probably 60%, passenger 90%, rest like new (3rd in storage since 2003). Drives like new.

Caveat: in-laws LC so I know it's perfect and they're gonna give it to me for a steal (better than trade-in value if I'm lucky).

Research on nada.com

I've looked at over 50 rigs nationally and specifically in the DC, Dallas, Phoenix and LA markets within the last two months and have found that if you can find a rig under nada.com "retail clean" (enter the mileage and options) then you got a good deal.

Have they given you a number or are they asking you to make an offer? If it's been well taken care of then the miles don't really matter...but at 200k that does give you a little bit of bargaining room. For reference, I paid $13.9K for my '00 w/ 134K in excellent shape. Use NADA and KBB to get some ideas

It sounds like you're going to get a great deal being that it's a family owned vehicle.

2001 LC 99,200 miles

Located in Winston-Salem, NC

Just a normal 100 series cruiser but they are asking 15,999. Just from quick glances I see normale wear and tear from opening and shutting doors from scratches there, one nick in the paint on drivers door, a leather repair in the middle of the front seat.

What should I counter with? They do not know if the timing belt has been replaced yet.

Thanks
