Well I passed on those '04's and came across this '06 LX in Houston with 135K miles. 3 owners, 2nd one was a lease. Louisiana and Texas truck. The latest owner traded it in. I pulled the Lexus service records and they are all there, oil changes and all except a couple in the very beginning with the first owner. Highlighted repairs: secondary air injection pump replaced @ 135K, new brake pads and rotors resurfaced @ 133K, CV boots replaced @ 127K, valve cover gasket @ 114K, wheel bearings repacked and new tires at 108K, TB/WP & shocks on rear hatch at 91K.

The exterior looks to be clean, they provided pictures of a couple tiny scratches on the doors and a couple rock/bug chips up front. The salesman swears no rust, they won't sale a rusted car on their lot. The leather looks good but the drivers seat does have a small crack it looks like and the stitching is a bit worn. The drivers arm rest has a worn spot also. The dealer recommended dyeing the seats, don't know about that. There is also a scratch on the glove box and the wood piece with the cup holders.

We agreed on a price of $19,000 baring any issues with the PPI tomorrow with a mobile mechanic. NADA clean retail is $22,650 and Carguru is $20,584 in Austin ($21.9K in Houston). Thoughts?

I was looking at that truck too! Great deal I'd take it if I were you - I'm a bit more picky on the leather should would probably have had to replace the seat covers.

Anyone come across this LC in Dallas? 2006 Toyota Land Cruiser, 1 owner, rear DVD, immaculate condition!!

It seems to be in above average condition - although I can't find records for it after 62K.

It's between this and an LX he hassn't listed yet with perfect records - all from Butler Lexus - since new. 117K & it's in amazing shape.

Which would you choose?

The LC is $24.5 & the LX is $26.4

Will I went and did it! I listed WhiteLady on CL.:crybaby: I hate to see her go. So I listed at premium price for the mileage, as I did not want to see/let her go. Looking at all the competition (series 100) listings that came to market in last two week, I'm pricey at $11,700.00.

She is a Golden Pearl white beauty.

Just to recap she's a 01 LX470 w/215K one owner that started life in New Orleans. Used to evacuate Hurricane Katrina, she's been in ever Colorado since. She was in need of TLC from poor mechanical work preformed by corner shop mechanics, a little kiss from a tree and then Mickey & Minny moving in (see engine wash).
LX470 to build or not to build... In this link you can see only some of what I did to bring her back to all here glory. She was 98% done when winter weather end my season of garage time fun (no heat) My girl friend was happy about that, was so jealous of the Lady!

Congrats, wish I wasn't so busy today at work, I might of jumped on it if I would have seen it posted.

The '06 LX that I am interested in had the PPI done this afternoon. The mechanic I used seemed to be good, I got a full detailed report and pictures. The exterior and interior are clean, frame looks good with a tiny bit of rust which he said for a '06 is normal. The TB/WP and most everything looks good. The AHC worked great. He did find a list of items that need fixing. I think I am going to ask the dealer to fix all of them or to reduce the price some more. We are at $19,000 right now, thoughts on approximate cost for work? Heres a link: 2006 LX470

-The hood struts need replacing
-Battery failed the load test and will need replacing
-Battery hold down is missing a bolt
-Air filter is dirty, needs replaced
-Valve cover gasket is leaking
-Driver side front CV axle is leaking
-Passenger side head lamps are hazy, needs buffing
-Steering wheel is off center and it needs alignment

Anyone? Bueller??

Going to see this lovely lady tomorrow. Would love to get an opinion!

Long time lurker, have been looking for my 1st LC. I am set on getting a non-nav '98-'99 100 series (can't talk me out of that choice!). I have another vehicle for my commute, so this rig will be strictly for family adventures (wife & 3 dogs). If the vehicle came stock, I had plans to upsize tires 285/75/16 right out of the gate. I have always wanted to build a overland rig (lift, lockers, armor, etc), but the plan was to get to know the truck first... then start slow and build it over a period of 2-3 years.

Ran across this '98 100 series on Craigslist a few days ago and it has totally thrown a wrench in my big plan. Asking price is $14,500. Has ~240k mi on the clock. Mods include ARB front air locker, ARB front bumper, Kaymar rear bumper with wheel carrier, 2.5-3" Old Man lift, Slee diff drop, upper control arms, OPOR sliders, and Toyo Open Country Extreme 33" tires.

Have been communicating with the seller and the wife and I plan to see it this weekend. Most of the relevant information is in the post (link below), but I also learned that it has been a CA truck all of it's life. As far as recent big maintenance, the timing belt, water pump, starter, radiator, spark plugs were replaced at 199k. The current owner bought it with ~220k mi on the clock and all of the modifications were installed by Gary Kardum at Mudrak... which I am told is kind of a big deal. I think the dents add some character, but I'm looking into the possibility of having them pulled out.

What do you guys think about the price? Should I go for it??

The wife said the same thing! In the past had a '97 Tacoma, '01 4Runner so the '06 LC maps perfectly.

I dunno much about the price - someone can chime in, but what you listed are mostly minor and can be easily fix DIY, but by all means use it as leverage for the price. My guess: Hood struts $50, Battery $100-$250 depending what you buy, Air filter $40, Valve cover leaking - most likely the bolts need tightening (free), CV probably need worm clamp (a few bucks), but worse case need a reboot (not sure of the cost), alignment $100.

Wow she looks great. Does not look like a 15 yr old truck with 200K at all.

Thanks, that was the price range I was thinking. I just didn't know about the CV boot piece and cost. The sales person said this was a value line vehicle and they don't do a full inspection or have much room usually. He's going back to his manager to see if they have any more room. Guess we will see what he says.

Congrats- now you can go find another one bring back to life.

Based on your attention to service detail, and being a straight shooter with disclosures on condition or mechanicals, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a vehicle from you. That buyer got a great truck, at a very fair price.

Recently someone posted a graph of asking prices for 100s with price vs miles. I can't find it with a search. Anyone know where that is?

Congrats, wish I wasn't so busy today at work, I might of jumped on it if I would have seen it posted.
Thx.

Thanks. Using a DA buffer for the first time it was amazing seeing the pearl paint pop!

That's nice of you to say, thank you!

You may have seen some of my other post where I mentioned this golden pearl white 01 LX470 (WhiteLady) had an interesting notation on car fax. That it been from a FEMA designated disaster area. WhiteLady had been used to evacuate a family of 4 from hurricane Katrina, carrying them to Colorado. It was their only worldly possession to survive. I bought as they were moving back to the south, too take-up there old life of building Hospitals.

What's really cool is buyer (~60 year old couple) didn't keep. No they gave as a gift to a needy family of 4. I listed at just the right moment for them to see, as they just started there search. What's really interesting is one thing or another delay my timing to list, mostly my enjoying driving her. Then when I finally did click on the icon to publish, CL wouldn't let me. I'd been scammed for authentication identity apparently. Then I had to wait ~14 hours for CL support team to authorize my listing. That's never happen before in all the years and hundreds of CL listing of various products, in fact I'd just listed 3 household items minutes before.

Buyer sent me a text, saying "everyone was crying when the handed over the keys".
This new family was destine to get the WhiteLady, Merry Christmas whom every you are!:santa::cheers:

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this: Used 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser 4WD for Sale in Oklahoma City OK 73114 Thoroughbred Motors

I have interior and underside pics which look really good. Sounds like a 2 owner car from Ca and Tx. I know this price is high.

Thanks

They have a bunch of LC's there. I noticed when I first started looking at LC's a couple of months ago, that most of them at that dealership have been in an accident at some point. I think most have been sitting on the lot for a while also. At a premium price, I would pass.

The '06 LX with 135K miles I had inspected, I got the price down to $18.2K. I think I am going to pull the trigger. It needs a little work but its clean inside and out, no rust on the frame and full maintenance records from Lexus dealerships (missing a couple at the beginning). Most of the other '06 LX's in the same mileage range are $21-$24K from what I have seen. They are waiting on a part on a recall thats out on it, so its going to be 4-5 days before its ready it sounds like. I appreciate everyones input thoughout the process.
