Hi, I'm kicking around selling the wife's 3rd gen 4Runner and getting a 100 series for her to haul the kids around. Would keep it stock.

Looking at a stock 2000 LC, 150k, California vehicle, all maintenance records, no accidents, never wheeled, some minor scratches and dings, interior is not super clean, but could be cleaned up. 2nd owner, has had it since late 2000. I think I could get the seller down to $9500. What do you guys think?

It sounds like a decent deal, if it has had regular maintenance and looks clean underneath. Take it for a drive and see how tight it feels. If it is good, I don't see any reason to stop you. Good luck.

New to this side of the forum... just realized I posted this in the wrong thread.

I just noticed the trailer hitch looks painted... I wonder if this is a real western truck, or if it's from out east?

This seems like a really good deal... Darn man, I wish I was in the spot that I could buy this and upgrade from my '99 model :(

The guy selling it probably doesn't know what lockers are (hence thought the centre diff lock was a locker!)

I was wondering the same thing. In the one the pic with the wheel well it almost looks like the frame has been painted, you can see what looks like overspray on the exhaust pipe. Hmmm.

yup, probably didn't know any better. Lockers weren't an option for this year were they?

Andy,

I'm interested in this Cruiser. What would you say a fair price for it would be. the owner sent me a bunch of additional photos and the interior looks pretty clean (now).

Comments appreciated.

Jeff

There is a highly respected Toyota shop called MotorTek that isn't too far from that dealer that would be able to do a thorough PPI. I'd guess the dealer would be willing to get it over to them.

Welcome to MotorTekAZ.com

I also drove the blue '03 that is currently listed on Craigslist in AZ. It looks better in pics but was very solid, no obvious leaks, etc. Just needs a good interior detail. His asking price is on par w/ the market right now but a bit too high for my liking.

Hey guys, just curious if you think this looks like a pretty good deal. Anyone in the Portland area willing to take a look at this for me?

Thanks!

Here's an update on this cruiser. I talked with the dealer and this cruiser has lived most of its life on the east coast. As suspected the chasis has quite a bit of surface rust that at some point was painted over. :frown: Too bad, the interior is in great shape.

Yep! I posted that one last week for y'all!

The thing to do would be to get them to take it over to Broadway Toyota to do a pre-purchase (after you run your own CarFax, of course). I'm out of town during the week so probably couldn't help with checking it out, but it does look like a very nice ride for $18.8k.

I'm not at all affiliated with this sale, but saw it on CL. Looks like a decent buy on a low mile white 2000 in PDX.

Just an update, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this one, seemed too good of a deal to pass up. Shouldn't need much, all maintenance is up to date; PO was very diligent. Need to chase an electrical issue with the door lock button on the driver's side, probably do the PS fluid, brake fluid, get her started on a diet of Mobil 1, and then a good detail job inside and out. The wife should be happy.

Thanks.

Picked up an '01 LX470 w/ 79k on Thursday for $17k. Probably a bit of a premium but for the miles, clean record, good maintenance history and FL/AZ truck, I thought it was worth it.

Already lubed the driveline, had the DRL Recall addressed and changing diffs/TC on Friday as well as having the TB inspected.

Congrats! And $17k for an 01 with 79k, that is not overpaying! I'd say that's a pretty handsome deal compared to what's out there! Good job!

I'll look for it this week in Chandler!

Dude! Run away from the light! :)

I turned down a very similar vehicle (year and miles) in Seattle last summer and we were down around the $22.5k range and it was at a Lexus dealer!

In fact I saw an early 2000's in Reno (that I would have paid for) with 9,000 miles on it for $22.5k. They're smoking crack at $26.5k.

And quite frankly I'm surprised that it's already bid up to $23.6k.
