hey guys love this forum a lot of great information.
i want to know if im making a good purchase tomorrow
2007 LX470 150k miles.
it has dvd screen in the headrest im not sure if that was a factory option on this car.
looks well maintained but not much maintenance was reported to car fax after 100k

we agreed on $16,000 if everything checks out fine.
would this be a great deal if the car is clean and well maintained
or should i hold off and wait for something else?

thank you in advanced.

2006-2007 LX470s mostly have independent dvd players w/ monitors on the 2 front seat headrests.

@ 90,000 miles the timing belt, water pump and all the other parts in that area would’ve been replaced- this is something to look out for (if not mostly price can be negotiated up to 1,000-1,500 less).

Look underneath, for rust on the chassis/body and globes and lines of the AHC (hydraulic suspension).

Check if the height control is working ad designed (Low, Neutral, High ride height settings).

Check for leaks. Check radiator if the coolant is still clear or has turned dark already. Turn on engine, turn on AC and just idle it, aircon must maintain the cold temperatures inside even on idle. At idle temp at the dash must remain at the middle. So far these are basic baseline road-worthy lx470 checklist for me.

I think value wise it is a great price. I paid a little more than that a year ago for a 2007 LX with 114k. Mine had impeccable maintenance records and was from Dallas with zero spots of rust.

As long as it checks out as per the list above and others on this forum, sound like a good deal to me!

Of all the things to check for the dvd headrests would be last on my list. Rust, leaks, driving. Get under it with a flashlight and crawl around. Really difficult with limited info and no pics to tell you if it's a truck worth buying.

Agree, impossible to assess the value of a vehicle on so little information, no pictures, and a location of "usa".

www.lexusdrivers.com add VIN and see if any dealer work has been reported.

Yes all this is true... Pics worth a lot to assess its condition. I 2nd making sure the under carriage is in good condition. Make sure its been taken care of either at the dealership or elsewhere (with receipts). Also since this is a LX. make sure if the AHC is working.. (it should) else you'll have to swap the suspension. Also the timing belt has been changed...as this is a interference engine and affects the pistons if the belt snaps.

DVD who cares about that bud? We have so many devices that give us better UI that I am sure you may not use it as much as you think.

Sorry guys what I meant about the DVD is that I don’t want no aftermarket parts installed on the car.

I’m going to see it in a few hours and lift it up and check it underneath.
Keep you Guys updated if all goes well I’ll be extremely happy returning my Jeep Grand Cherokee high altitude lease getting into a older but much more reliable car.

with the limited info, yes a 2007 with 150k miles for 16k is a great deal if it checks out (rust, damage, issues etc.). That's the last 100 series year and you would have all the important upgrades such as 5 speed and vvti. 150k miles is low miles in land cruiser terms and not stupidly low like under 100k where i would be worried about city driving stop and go and sitting for long periods.

I've seen those go for 18-25k in California based on how much the seller know's what he got lol.

My 2000 rustbox cost the same, so yeah, a 2007 is great for that money. But here on the other side of the pond every "large" cruiser (so not prado) is way overpriced and hyped. I'd check the AHC, Brake booster sound and time it runs for, steering rack for leaks on the ends, CV play, PRND clunk at least - these are all pretty $$$ to replace. Also what I like to check is the state of all the bulbs inside and outside. For example if the licence plate bulbs are out, that would be a good indication of how much the car was loved. I had to replace 11 bulbs on mine after buying, 5 on the outside... And it turned out, not only the bulbs where not taken care of... So it might be a good indicator, or might not. It should have been to me:D

HeY I bought a 100 series yesterday too :) needs a little work but $10,000 for 2003 with 160k miles clean title. I probably could have kept looking but my wife liked this one so.......

If you’re satisfied with the truck at the agreed upon price who cares what a bunch of internet people say about it

If you agree on a price without seeing it then don't wuss out if the seller holds up his end. How would you feel if the seller changed his mind when you got there?

It didn't leave the factory with the DVD headrests, but they were often port installed prior to shipping to the dealership. Without photos, there's no telling what you have.

$16k seems fine, but make sure it drives right, the AHC works, it's not a rusty mess, the steering rack and CVs aren't leaking, and try to find out if the timing belt service was done at 90k.

Good luck

So I took it to the shop lifted it up and everything seemed good except for a little bit of rust the mechanic said it’s not bad and nothing to worry about. We checked the air suspension everything performed as it should radio ac rear view camera all the coolant and oil was good drove it and everything seemed good on my end.

Welcome the new car to the family
2007 LX470 142k miles paid $15600
