If they're asking twelve grand (!), there's no possible way to get them down to a number that is realistic.
Why even bother?

its a 2007 so if it’s in great shape sans high miles I don’t think that’s a crazy number.
He said a “little rust”- i always find that subjective as it’s a little too much for me- any rust at all and those miles it’s worth half the asking price if its otherwise nice.

Its minimal, it looks like a California car.. I have been under several cars at this point... It's pretty rust free..sunroof moved and then got stuck..
That is a little concerning .
No major work noted on Carfax...which could be good or bad ...

I would personally just keep looking. I purchased my rig pre-Covid and it took 6 months to find something worth buying. I got lucky and found a 1-owner with 149K for $15.5. Unheard of these days. I checked multiple times per day and was headed to the dealership mere hours after listing was posted.

i would consider it if it had minimal rust, i could take a peak at the timing belt and if the price was right

yeah it looks really clean but i think price is a little high, probably worth 5-7k in my opinion, plus a timing belt service coming up so expect around 2k for that if going to a shop. I purchased my 2002 during height of covid, had 200k miles and i paid 13k.

12k for one with 450k miles? For a little more you can buy something like mine 2007 with no rust and half the miles
