i am thinking that dark grey or the grey that is on the rear bumper is the way to go....

Looks great, goes on glossy, and dries matte (im sure thats same for all spray cans)
after prepping. i used a air compressor to blow the rim free of dust/dirt, or anything that might be laying on the primer (please make sure the primer is dry, you might make a mess if its not)

I am planning on taking on this project over the next couple of days. Question, I cant tell from the picture. Did you break the bead on the tire in that photo before you used the index cards? I was looking at my BFG's and with the tire fully deflated, I do not get really good access to the edge of the rim. If so, what method did you use to re-seat the bead? Thanks!
not bad but your priorities need to be straightened out. That damn chrome manik bar needs to be painted like yesterday!
it is akin to a european man purse on your vehicle.
here is another write up if you take the tires off. It was an easy job and even if you dont take the tires off the rim i would use the epoxy paint.

When I did my rims I had the michelins on. I did not air them down, just notecarded. I'm not sure about tue AT bead, but tue KM-2 bead wont let you slide anything in there.
You may have to experiment. Use Vasonline on the tire, when you are done wash it off. It's cheap and easy. I did it on the emblems on the wheels.
Thanks man! I am going to give it a shot without unseating the bead. With BFG 295's, the tires completely deflated, I can get the index cards in there. Tail Strip II is already on and pulling the old paint off.... so no turning back now! If I can get the edge of the rim good enough, then I will pop the bead loose and redo it..... Graphite here I come......

would have been a good idea..... But I am living in San Diego now, and I like being bale to touch up the graphite if needed with an off the shelf solution.....
Well, I finished up! Thanks for the write up! It helped a lot! I really love the way they came out. I am not sure if I will stay with the graphite or if I will go black....The Graphite is really close to the body color and black might be a better choice for me....

No rocks or trees here, I want then so people can get into my car, and to have a jacking point when she belly outs on a dune. I have learnt that the kick out work really well as jacking points becuase most of the slider is in the dune... so I want 2 of them.

That looks great! Graphite wheels on the Riverock Green Mica 100s are the best combo out there.
Thanks. I am waiting on some new center caps to come in so I can paint them up. I lost one on the way to MOAB this year and another one is broken. I think it looks good with the chrome lugs and sombrero on the graphite...
