Everything on my truck from waist-line down is black however I do like the graphite look on certain colors. Its all personal preference, go with whatcha like the most!

Blairs truck looks really nice too. Next thing is to paint that little strip of metal underneath the door sills. The area where that running boards cover up. For now it's looks, then moving to function. When I get the funds... cant wait till I'm done. But ill have to.

Yoters wheels look great. Has anyone though of a clearcoat? I can't find a flat clearcoat. Would that help the durability/chipping?

Looks good but I just don't see how Duplicolor will hold up on wheels. I've painted tons of stuff with it and it scratches fairly easily. I know it is probably a couple hundred bucks more but I've would have just pulled the rims and gotten them powder coated unless it was on a cheap truck...which the 100 series isn't. If you really want to avoid the expense of pulling the wheels I would have painted the rims with an air gun and a stronger paint. jst my two cents.

i argued the difference between this and powdercoat. and finally came up with this: Ill spray them myself and see how I like it. Then in a couple months when tires are needed, ill get them powdercoated.

Ive painted with Duplicolor and yea, i agree it was not the most durable and scratch resistant. i could scratch it with my fingernail. the rustoleum high enamal (thats what i used) is incredibly hard. i expected some tool rash while putting them on... none. I have wheeled, driven in rain, gone through dusty areas and through pretty deep mud with them. so far no chips or scratches. i can go through a 3$ car wash and not worry about the paint. and hit them with a pressure washer... (thats why i did a bete wheel. which was my spare, and went over and through various terrain and conditions to test the paints strength. thats why it took me a week)... overall im very happy with rustoleum products. as for duplicolor, they may have more colors and a prettier overall finish, but strength wise im with rustoleum.

Completely agree. With my personal expectations, I wasnt at all looking for a durable finish. Experienced just about everything 2000uzj has done with no scratches. Also including snow. When i get some more cash i will definitely go with the powdercoating. But for right now, you cant beat the $30 job by yourself. :hillbilly: Scratches and chips it will be a quick/ easy fix. Even with the scartches and s***, i wont really be to bothered by them. Had many large rock scratches and dings on the stock color and finished wheels.

Anyone know if you can get graphited color powdercoating??? Thanks

im pretty sure if your tell them they will do it. custom colors may be more expensive. but i think if duplicolor has it. a shop that powdercoats rims should have graphite. as for the finish. i plan on keeping my spray painted rims (sounds like i drive a civic now) in good condition. the durability has shocked me. tommorow im gunna try a pressure washer to get the dirt off, so ill post up on how much paint is blast off. im not gunna hit it 2" away with full pressure obviously. maybe enough to just kinda "blow" the dirt off. air dry of course

Does anyone have a picture of a Green 100 with black or dark grey rims? I bought a second set of rims and am ready to start the project....

i'm gonna knock on her door and see if she has some in her Garage...

Yeah, maybe you can teach her how to spray things

Should I do my mirrors black? The rear vents look alone uptop. Now since I got my windows tinted. Is there a way to tone down that mirror tint on the rear windows....?
