Until you put appropriately sized tires on it. ;)

Hey hey hey. I'm pretty happy at the moment. Just need to finish what I started on this build. So far no issues to report but....

The truck fits in my wife's parking garage!!!!!!!

It touches the very edge of the OEM roof rack rails. Just barely. If I put an extra bottle of water in the back it should clear no problem :flipoff2:

That being said? The truck will only fit into one of three spots so it means she will need to leave for work earlier :meh:

And btw, I researched a dozen times and ordered once. In fact if you go back and read, the only think I double ordered were the sway bar drops. ;)

/hijack off, back to Delancy's mind project.

Delancy is like a woman.

WTF do you know about women, boy?

:flipoff2:

you tell him one thing, it gets processed and what comes out of his mouth is not even remotely close to the original statement.

You're way off base there. See, that would insinuate that I was listening in the first place.

Which is like a woman.

:flipoff2:

He will still proceed on course, realize the errors of his ways and will have already spent more money trying to polish a turd rather than doing it right in the first place

And the right way is?

When do you want to start?

I am sure it has been mentioned, but I dont have time to read through this thread. Why not try to beef up a 60-62 series front axle and put it under your truck. You could even weld on 80 knuckles, you might to get creative with the steering links.

I agree the Hi-pinion is great, but it is a mini truck diff in 5-6k lb truck.

Kinda off topic but maybe relevant. How does the front axle compare to a Dana 44? The only reason I ask is I have a Dana 44 with chromoly axles, locked, and with 5.38s. I also have a matching 60 rear.

Another question. I am on the process of installing my locked 5.29 thirds. My next purchase in the very near future was going to be Longs. Should I keep stock axles to be the weak point instead of the R&P? I run 37s, 60 hubs, and I'm not easy on it but I am also not extremely hard on it.

It doesn't compare to a D44, which would be the equivalent to a mini truck front... In stock form. Low pinion strength.

D44's were available in high pinion from the factory. Late 70's F150's and 250's I believe.

I only know of the snowfighter, and that's a Dana60.
Used on snow plows. I never knew they had the D44 in that variety too. Hmm. I see the axle now! Wasn't even the first time I was wrong today either!

My 44 is a low pinion. I was just curious. They are currently in a Jeep that will get parted if it doesn't sell. Anyone want to buy a Jeep?

I already stated it on the last page for the axle

Alright, bitch.

Now what?

What did you get?

Front and rear RS 9" uncut PS drop housings.

The deal's possibly squirreled by a "too good to be true" J**p trade, late to the party. ( While replying here. :frown: )

Will know for certain on Sunday, now, which sucks. I was prepared to pay the asked price, but through the attempted negotiations, I took second billing at $850 for both.

Have to possibly ask a North Texan Mudder to assist with transaction, but will wait until I've confirmation.

If not, your an RS dealer, so get them coming my way first of next week.

For the record. If my OEs fail, this will be the definitive replacement.

If not, these are for the next 80 based project.

Now, get off my ass.

(Hey, I need a beer mug. Promised one to the Mudder I used to get at you. Was digging it out of the swag bin and dropped the dang thing. Do y'all sell?)

Just curious, as I'm mulling over some axle issues myself (not on the '80, though...): What's the rationale for a 9"?
