I rolled it across the scales on the way back from Cruise Moad. This had my FJ40.5 on the trailer, trail spares, tools, camping gear adn a few things for Marlin.

Welcome to MUD.
You have an SAE bell housing.
You can get a Chysler (Dodge), Ford and a Chevy bell housing adaptor. You remove the flywheel and bolt it to the block. The adaptor will be determined what transmission you want to use.
IH8Mud is a great resource but www.4BTSWAPS.COM is a better one for what you are doing.

A girlfriend of mine just bought a '99 F-250, really makes me want to get a truck.
Maybe one of these days I'll look into a gov't surplus truck, like this.

The bed is a STAHL that was used in the USFS.
I bought the Dead Liner but after I got it they said do not apply it if you live in a hot climate. It gets soft and gooey in the heat and seems to be fading due to UV rays, just like undercoating.

Just a thought, but if you are looking to offload the liner, I live somewhere not so hot, and have a lot of rust to cover.... I hope they do right by you and send out some of the new formula when they get it together.

Sounds Good.
Make sure you ask them about the waterbased formula when it hit -50.
is the rust so bad that AuqaMan feel off the back?

I can't believe you remember that. I think he slid down into the hatch as the hole got bigger, I'll have to pull the access panel and recover him.
Great looking rig. I have a pile of 67-72's with the intentions similar to yours. Good to see your still sporting the typical hood misalignment. Always end up a little off !

I can tell you every problem you will run into.
I have replace the left side hinge with three different ones. They work great for about a month or about 10 opening and closings and then they are off.
I gave up.

Great looking rig. I have a pile of 67-72's with the intentions similar to yours. Good to see your still sporting the typical hood misalignment. Always end up a little off !

Rig is doing fine.
I'm on my 4th voltage regulator. I have redundance grounds on everything but still blow them after I use my winch. At $7.50 each I think they are jsut a little on the crappy side. I plan on going to a GM 1 wire alternator like I did on my 4BTA. I do not have the exact mounting bracket that I need so I'm slowly in search of one.
The bump steer is pretty bad. I installed a steering stabilizer but it is still very noticable. My next plan it to install the crossover steering setup to reduce it.

After driving this 6bt for a while, think it would have been beneficial to put one in your 45?

The 6BT would be overkill in the FJ40.5. The 4BTA is almost more than enough but far from being under powered.
Hey, I installed a Delco 22SI 160amp (Class 8) truck alternator on mine and requires very little mods to the factory alt brackets. It's a 3 wire design with internal reg. Also uses the 8 rib belt pulley. Super easy swap.
