Hi All:

Jos, tell us more about what you plan on doing to this BJ42.

Regards,

Alan

I will be watching this one!

Where are you from Jos? I'm from Valkenburg, near Den Haag. If you're somewhat closeby i could drive over and check it out.

Yo Jos ,
Can you tell me more about the hydraulic winches you intend to use ?
I'm also building hydraulic steering on my BJ40 at the moment , so i'll keep checking yours.

i live in giesbeek, close to arnhem
and its gone be road legal

I would love to see your rig in person.
Do you have a registration yet?
I imagine it will be hard to get it aproved by the RDW with a non original suspension.:hmm:

I have moved the rear axle 6 inches to the back and the front axle 4 inches to the front, batteries will relocated to the rear off
the car for better weight balance. I put in two hydraulic winches, witch will have a line speed of 20 meters [66 feet] per 60 sec.
the speed stays the same under full pulling weight off 4000 kg [9000 lbs] I have a hydraulic steering set from trailgear ,six shooter knuckle kit, diffratio goes to 4.88

Well, this woke up several Dutch members!

RDW won't be a big issue, just build it right and within the rules and they will approve it. There is a fear for them for which there is no reason. Only the full hydrolic steering will be a challenge to keep it road legal.

Are you going to compete in any Dutch competitions or only in the bigger international ones?

Anyway, i'm subscribed!

Are those rear shocks in their final position?

With that much angle your shocks are going to lose quite a bit of dampening and spring rate. Upright would be better. They will have a harder time controlling sway like that.

because off the angle off the shocks I don't need shocks with a long travel for getting a lot off flex on the rear axle.
the shocks I use,I can adjust bound and rebound. also will a swaybar be used on the back and on front
