Probably. But BB also have had cases of early rusting in a few folks.Bud Built are more stout than Slee. FWIW
Which were addressed directly by them due to a run of bad PC.Probably. But BB also have had cases of early rusting in a few folks.
For such a large investment, I would go with Slee.
Which is probably true?? But i am just stating what happened to a several BB owners here. Correct me if i am wrong, but that has not haopened with other vendors, such as Slee or MetalTech.Which were addressed directly by them due to a run of bad PC.
In the cases mentioned on this forum, the rusting was very much premature and corrosion was thru out frame, not just one or two impact spots. In my opinion, you're going to get a great product from either Bud or Christo.
I'd probably let proximity, availabilty/lead time drive a decision if it was me.
@Madtiger Any exposed metal will corrode in the right conditions, that's not a Budbuilt problem per se. If one has concerns with Budbuilt finishes and corrosion, it is easy to buy them bare metal and have them finished locally with whomever one prefers, in whatever finish makes the most sense.
I had my first set of Budbuilt step sliders ('13 200) epoxy primed and painted with PPG paint by a local body shop. I got the second set ('16 200) from Budbuilt already powdercoated. I prefer the ones that are already powdercoated.
Any sliders that are used as real sliders are going to need to be maintained and touched up. I have massive gouges in my current set that are rusting that I need to look after once the weather gets better. It's just a cost of doing business when you scrape a pig like the 200 over ledges and large rocks.
