I replaced my heater core last December, as I too liked heat when I went up in the mountains in the winter. The whole dash came out. It was so ugly that the
freaked out. I told her to stay away until I was done. I was never so happy to see something broken on the truck when I finally got the old core in my hands. I wanted that core to be bad after all the work getting to it. Taking some general advice from "jonheld" I replaced the core with OEM and moved on. No way I'm taking a chance on doing that job again. And, the job required that the AC be discharged, which really 
as my AC had never "needed" service. But that's another story. (1991 FJ 80 with 234K miles)

I haven't touched the 80 in 5 months due to a badly broken wrist. But it looks like I will be selling my motorcycle and buying a designated DD when the cast comes off in a month or so. So since it will soon be a designated fun vehicle, the 80 will probably be going back under the knife Unless someone wants to give me $5000 for it as it sits. Runs perfect. Let me know if you want details.

Thanks for the concern guys. Short story: I was riding my road bike and a girl t-boned me. I pulled a superman,landed hard on my wrist, and skidded. Dislocated my left shoulder, tore most of the flesh off my left back, elbows, and ankle, and Broke my lunate and my scaphoid. Two surgeries and 5 months in a cast so far....
Anyway, when the cast comes off I'm thinking I want to go back to an SUT cut on the rig. I miss the open air feel, and Since I won't be using it for snowboarding trips and such anymore, I'm not concerned with keeping the passengers warm and dry. I know, I keep changing my mind, its ridiculous.

Dang, I am glad to hear your ok... I had a colleague that was killed in a very similar accident a couple years ago. People just don't pay attention, I've always thought a bike would be awesome to have but I don't trust the motoring public as a whole anymore.

Sorry about your accident. Glad you survived. But I got to ask why were you not wearing leather? If you had leather on you would of been well protected. I see riders with no helmets and tank tops a lot. It just boggles my mind. One spill and their toast.
I think by road bike he implies a bicycle, not a motorcycle? Hence no leathers.
Wish I had 5k laying around. It's been fun to follow your build over the years and I love how it turned out.

To clarify; I have a motorcycle that I'm selling because I won't be able to ride for a long time. But the accident occurred while I was on my road BICYCLE.
And yes, SUT cut implying that I'm opening the back up again. A bit different this time since its bobbed more. I will also be starting on the cage.

Well, that makes sense since my wife cycles and "road bike" is a cycle term. Usually street bike would imply a motor I suppose, I have a 29er and everything I own with a motor has 4 wheels so I am not the one to be talking about either one.
Also, knowing it was on a cycle makes it a much rougher hit to take, as I said my wife rides and I know most likely how much "protection" you had on and that would definitely not protect you at all from that kind of hit.

I'm surprised this hasn't sold yet if the 5000 was a serious offer. I would go for it I hadn't just done 2 home remodels.

The 5000 was serious. I have a couple people PMing me, but nothing solid yet. I'll probably be ok to start wrenching again in a month or so. So if its not sold by then it will most likely go back under the knife. I think if I actually advertised it I could sell it quickly, but I think I subconsciously don't want to let it go.
