Shackle Reversal - Factor ?

I've always wondered if a shackle reversal and too much grease could send un-intended force back into the front nose cone.

I doubt it. If anything, the load transfer might break the t-case off the transmission
or crack the t-case along the idler.
 
Hi All:

Anyone ever seen a t-case nose cone with this notch in the underside? It appears to be part of the casting, not from grinding-off material. It came from a 11/73 FJ40.

i've seen this before. i think it's actually wear caused by bad mounts. the t-case can then "ground out" on the skid plate and wear down the aluminum.
 
I'd also like to get on the billet nose cone list. PM me if it happens.

When greasing the slip joints, I fill them full, then I take out the zerks and go drive/flex the truck, then reinstall the zerks. .02
