Broken Idler Shaft Retainer Bolt

Any suggestions or guidance in fixing a broken bolt on the idler shaft retainer clip? It broke off almost flush to the TC...

drill and easy out
weld a nut to the broken piece

Heat the local area, soak with Kroil. Use a punch to strike the broke bolt on axis to try and brake corrosion bond. Wait a day or two reapplying the kroil. 2x daily. Center punch as accurately as possible. Try and drill along the axis. Left handed drill bits might grab and screw it out. Easy outs can work but if they break they are way harder to get out. Place a washer over the hole. Weld washer (MIG TIG) to broken bolt. Now place a nut and weld to bolt/washer. Wiggle back and forth to loosen/work it out. Can take several tries, keep applying Kroil.
