Brake pads for 93 Land Cruiser

what’s the best pads for the 80s series Land Cruiser? ITs my daily driver so I drive it on the highway a lot, but I also off-road too. What’s a good pad for both areas?
 
Not a fan of dealer pads. EBC Green Stuff are nice, now I just run whatever ceramic. Don't do the 100 thing anymore, don't see the point of the poor/improper fit for slightly longer pad life.

Changed front and rear pads to NAPA premium ceramic pads and they have been great so far. Plus given the pads don’t last that long on theses heavy girls I get free pads when they wear out.
 
I get only 80 series pads and not 100 series pads

I just go to napa auto parts and get whatever they have now...they work and last as long as most other brands..OEM way to much money
 
Mines a DD and bought PowerStop rotors and pads. Rotors are drilled and slotted. I used the 100 series pads. I thought they were very good and I got 50,000 miles out of the first set of pads. I replaced them with O'Reilly Brake Best Ceramic and those suck ass. I will probably go back to the PowerStop pads again. I went with the O'Reilly set because my son works there and I got them for $15. I'll happily pay more for better brakes.

This is what can happen with 100 series pads. They tend to ride outboard of the rotor O D. When checking your pad thickness it looks like they are fine, but in reality not so.
 
I went with 100 series akebono pads for mine.

Increased surface area = more stopping power

That happened on my '91 when running '93+ pads. I got another set at the parts store (labeled for the smaller '91), but they were the same size. I ground 1/4" or so off the outer edge and it's fine now.

A buddy of mine runs that same setup on his 97, he pulls his overland trailer all over the desert southwest and swears by that setup.
 
Tried the green; they were fine but got lazy and just use the napa ceramic, never noticed much difference.

Yep, thats what happen to mine with 100 series pads and when they got hot going down long grades in the high sierra they shimmied the steering back and forth...things got scary.....tossed them 100's and went back to 80's.. no issues back at them long down grades ;)
 
I use mostly OEM pads, but have had good results with EBC as well.
Pads are only part of the equation. Rotor condition and thickness is key along with caliper maintenance. Brake fluid is supposed to be water clear, not coffee black.

EBCs on Mine.
Akebono, Advics, are great as well.
Never heard bad about Bosch either.
