Where do I find the right size hard brake line tube nuts? Some of them that I see don't have the same thread depth that the factory Toyota ones have. Does anyone know where I can get the same size ones? Thanks!!

There are two flavors even on Toyotas. There is one that is threaded all the way down used on the master cylinder (and I think calipers, don't remember), then there is one that is not threaded all the way down used at flex lines. I get mine from boneyards. How many do you need? Cover my shipping costs and I'll send you some.

I got a box of nice quality ones from either Classic Tube or Inline Tube. I don't remember, but thery are as nice or nicer than stock Toyota. If you are making up new lines, the same company also sells the 3/16 tube pretty cheap. I can check later if you need it.

Yes, Drew, please post.

It was Classic Tube:

Part # C3 25 foot coil of 3/16 tube $12.50

Part # 8036 10mm x 1mm Ferrule nut $0.90

You have to scroll way down their catelog, and their web page is not user friendly, but with the above, I made the new lines for my FJ40. You do need to learn how to double flare the brake line. You can also get stainless tube and nuts for about 4X the price. No rust here, so I didn't bother.

I know it seems weird, but Land Cruisers use 3/16 tubing with metric fittings for the hard brake lines.

I also noticed they have the rare 9mm x 1mm used in the very early Cruisers but have no personal experience if they actually fit.

Awesome. Thank you.

I just bought some at NAPA and they worked fine. It's the tip of the line that makes the seal so the thread does not need to match or go all the way to the tip. I think the OEM style has a fairly shallow hex that can get chewed up.

Although a little off topic - my favorite brakelines are kunifer or copper alloy. Super easy to flare and bend and they dont rust and don't work harden like copper. I have not found a vendor for the stuff in the US.
