Bled the brakes today. Again, one of the best investments I've made were the speed bleeders. Don't forget to buy the bleeder bags and bleeder hose. They make for less mess.

I have noticed people saying they leak, so keep an eye on them.
I've never had the speedbleeders leak, but they did fail closed. I think they got water/debris inside and corroded shut.

I honestly think OEM is the way to go, and make sure you get new rubber caps on all the bleeders, no matter which bleeders you use.

You guys still running speed bleeders? I need to replace all four of mine so I'm thinking the extra few bucks might be worth it.

Mine are still working properly. I live in San Diego where it's bone dry with little chance for corrosion.

Great little handy practical investment.

I am replacing them back with OEM since they do eventually fail. At least that has been my experience.

I live in socal as well. I didn't have rubber caps and probably got some dust buildup inside the hole, but the corrosion is on the inside of the bleeders. I think it jams it up. Just a guess.

After trying leaky aftermarket bleeders, I realize the tolerance of the machining matters. I just feel better with OEM, there is nothing to fail. and for me, prefer to bleed two person now. Will also replace the rubber caps if missing or cracked.

To be fair, the speedbleeders lasted without leaking, and I didn't bleed for years.

This may be redundant/well known:

M10-1.0 x 35 is the bleeder size for 1990 through 2007 LC disc brake calipers

SB1010 from Speed Bleeder

I can add one bit of data to above; when I went to install Speed Bleeders (brand name) into my rear calipers (97 model) they would not seat/seal all the way so instead installed OEM bleeders in the rear.

I had no problem getting them to seat in the front however. After finishing the brake job I realized I could have just filed off half a millimeter from the tip of the Speed Bleeders as that what was keeping them from seating. IIRC the OEM bleed screws have a slightly cut off or blunted tip, the Speed Bleeders came to a sharp point which was ever so slightly longer (different tip profile) than the OEM bleeders.

FWIW.
