I did a ton of searches on Mud and ended up here for a brake bleed:

My truck needed a full bleed from the master out. This was so easy and only had to check the pressure a couple of times for all four wheels, no separate bleed of the master needed. The universal cap and chain works fine for the stock non threaded cap.

That chain thing will give you a false sense of security. Works fine when it works, but makes an absolute mess when it doesn’t.

Good tool though, nice to have when working alone.

I can see that there is a huge potential for a big mess. That said I was very carefull with the setup, I wet the rubber seal on both sides with brake fluid and confirmed it held pressure before adding any fluid. old T-shirt just in case. Having done this a lot of times with assistance this is worth way more than the cost along with a better bleed.

I have a Motive, sometimes the hook n chain seals great...sometimes not, which is a big pita. A Mud member posted a pic a few years back using two short sliding bar clamps to clamp the Motive cap on tight.

I like the idea of the dedicated cap but between my rigs I’d have 3 different ones.

Are you talking about small Quick Grips or whatever?

Another happy user of the Motive Power Bleeder. I’ve used them with great success on everything from my Unimog to my CUCV to my LC. I love the fact that I don’t have to inconvenience someone else or wait until they’re available to pump the brakes to bleed them.
