Does anyone have this color?

If so, any pics? I am thinking about looking at one but it is quite far away. I don't want it to be too purple ... is it the same as the FJCruiser Black Cherry color?

Is it a color that is popular or is it a color that could hinder re-sale value?

Thanks,
-Mike

definitely more red than purple. i would say it's a touch more red than black cherry. very nice, very eye catching.

I don't blame him, I think seeing a color or having someone describe/compare it is much better than looking at a color chart.

Heck, look at the color shown for Desert Bronze.

Thanks, however that chart, which yes I have searched and hit previously, is useless. Pictures as a whole can be useless, but an owner can tell if the pic is representative of their vehicle or not.

I have seen two pics of the Black Garnet color and one looked purple and one looked red, but I was not able to confirm with the owners if they were represntative of the pics. Thus I wanted to get the general consensus of the color, from this board.

Also, wanted to find out if people thought this color is one of those re-sale hindering colors.

I much prefer white, but wife seems stuck on this color. Just as long as it isn't butt ass ugly purple. One person has responded that they don't think it is purple ... any other perspectives?

My '03 LC is BGP (even though I would've probably preferred the blue or black) and I am CONSTANTLY getting compliments on the color. I would have to say it's closer to deep burgundy, than purple.

My car on the other hand is an Acura TL in Agean Blue and my friends call it "Purple Rain", so stay away from that one.

Mine is the Mahogany Pearl and looking at the chart, I cannot tell any difference with the Black Garnet. I like the color and have seen several others with the same color. Personal taste plays a big part. I like it over the white and black colors.

I used to have the Mahogany & the Mahogany has a touch more brown to it, the garnet has more red.

I agree, I think Mahogany Pearl and Black Garnet are the best looking colors I've seen on a LC. I have the Champaine color that they had in 99, looks more like a mist silver to me and it is a good color for not showing dirt/dust.

Teh Black Garnet has a red look to it and I find it quite attractive. There are not very many of them on the road, so it would be relatively distictive also. It is one of my preferred colors on 100s.

I have a 2006 in the Black Garnet Pearl. The color is a metallic dark burgundy, much more deep red than purple. It looks good with the gray side strip and bumpers, and would look even better with a gray lower full two-tone scheme, IMHO.

I do not have a picture, but post back if you still want one and I will try and photograph it against a light background so you can get a good sense of the color.

BTW, the color is deep enough so that it actually looks black under certain light conditions... hence the description "Black Landcruiser" on the speeding citation I received last month. :frown:

Wow, that paint color is awesome:cheers:

It wouldn't work for me because it would show all my scratches, but I like it much more than black.

Steph23, is that picture representative of the color to you? It looks VERY purple on my monitor, and I have my monitor semi calibrated for natural color. Is the camera casting it's own shade to it, or is it in fact a purplish color?

The photo is showing the same color that I see in person; however, I think the color to the far right of this spectrum is closer to purple, while what I've got on my truck is either a very deep red (almost a blackish red) or burgundy.

yeah it looks a lot more red in person.
