Hi folks,
I hope it's okay to post this here. I had to find the parking spot that I parked my Cruiser on empty this morning. I feel like the person that stole it was probably pretty excited since 2 big travel backpacks were in the back as well. I'm really hoping the leave it somewhere along the side of the street....

It happened on 24th and Church in San Francisco! It's an Ontario license plate (BXEH 806) and the entire truck is pretty distinct. The bottom half is black, the upper half is brown, it has a self made swing arm pumper with spare tire and spare jerry can (if the thiev is smart he removes them) and a roof rack with wood planks. (A lot harder to remove)

If you see it somewhere please let me and the police know. My email is: mailtolueck@gmail.com

Thanks guys!

First, sorry your trip to the US resulted in you 60 getting stolen.

Mud is a great place to post this, as the people here pay more attention to all LandCruisers than anyone else.

Hopefully the thieves just wanted the backpacks and you find it on the street. That has happened several times to Mud members.

Good luck.

Ughh - Very sorry this happened to you. I'm in SF today and will be keeping an eye out. Car thefts and break ins are very common here and most often the vehicle is recovered within a few days with everything of value removed - they use them to commit crimes, then ditch them, often in the Tenderloin. Good luck.

Sucks to hear, hope it surfaces soon.
Have you posted in the Clubhouse section for that area?

Good luck with retrieving it..

Every owner's nightmare...

Arses. I'll keep an eye out in So Cal if they even make it this far south.

Bummer - but it will turn up, out of fuel but most likely in one piece. Two friends of mine in SF had their 60s stolen multiple times and that was always the result. For some reason I could not get them to use a Club or similar device. An 80s Toyota is pretty easy to steal without some kind of anti-theft tool.

The SFPD probably told you this... but if you do find it parked somewhere, don't drive it until the cops have showed up and given you the OK.

Self! Remind me to install sneaky kill switch on vehicle somewhere, and buy a "club".

Hope you get 'er back. The cops have any promising leads?

Sorry man, hope that cheered you up.

Thanks guys. I still have hope. I am trying to upload some pictures. Let's see if this works.

I'm hanging out in San Francisco waiting for that phone call from the police.

That's when you hope for "car-ma"! (lol)
Cheers

Hasn't turned up yet then? Really hope you get her back.

Not yet unfortunately. Still waiting... Someone's probably living in it or so. Was packed with food and cozy mattress and pillows.

Im in sf. If i see it you will get an email from me. I'm on 24th and rhode island.
We had our 80 stolen last year. It was left parked near the projects with no gas.
We found ours. What we did is go onto the dpt site and by searching to see if the car got a ticket, we were able to pinpont the area. In our case the 80 had 2 tickets.

^ that's a very good idea, searching the DPT website for tickets on your vehicle. There's a very good chance that it's sitting somewhere with an empty tank. The thieves have moved on but the meter maids don't stop.

I know of at least 2 Cruisers that have been stolen over the last few years (unfortunately both were in California) and both were recovered within a few miles of where they were taken. Unfortunately all of the items inside were never recovered in both cases.
Good luck ....
