Some pics from earlier today before the vibration got out of hand.

spent the night in the cedars of lebanon state park. We were disappointed since it didn't look remotely close to the actual cedars of lebanon, but it was a good night's sleep. Woke up and rewired the fans. All three kept the temps manageable while towing uphill.

Also, the lift on the mini truck is done. Will need to go up a size or two in tires. I plan on keeping this truck 100% mechanically Toyota.

I want to be mad, but this held up for a long time towing a trailer up mountain passes.

What do you think was the root cause? Were the needle bearings missing from the buggered up knubs?
No clue, it's the second time I replace that exact location in 5 years.

All I know is it put a huge dent in our anniversary plans. Wife swore off big red for long trips. We'll be taking her tacoma from now on.

Ha, sorry I missed you. We stopped at Newport and headed to hot springs

Not advocating for or against anything from autozone. I'm just putting the U joint parts number on here in case anyone needs it in a pinch, like I did. I'll likely swap these out at some point when I get home and before I hit hard trails.

So true. No complaints so far, it’s held up on the trails and got rid of the vibration.

We did some light trails and some sight seeing today. Very relaxing compared to the last few days we had. We kept crossing in and out of Tennessee and North Carolina. The cell service isn't so great here, I'll post up more pictures when I can.

It's pouring rain, we're sitting in the tent by the river and I'm out of beer, so I guess I'll post up a few pics.

We did hurricane creek today. It's a decent trail, not too hard, but you'll likely get some body damage if you're in a stock vehicle. It has a few off camber and sketchy sections.

The trail was wet and there were a few times I slid where it could have ended badly. Though the trail app said we need about 3 hours, we were able to complete it in just under two hours. We weren't rushing as we stopped to take pictures and look around. I don't recommend anyone do it alone like we did. We have tons of videos but we'll post a few once we have better reception.

These things are a great investment. Aired down all 4 tires in minutes.

First time using my new double compressor ARB. Took a second to get the old gauge to fit in a new hose. Was impressed with the dual compressors, took all 4 tires from 20 psi to 40 in minutes.

That's hilarious, that's our neck of the woods. Pretty cool trail right? I've ran that trail a bunch. Go up and find wolf creek falls, that's my favorite spot to camp and swim.

Second favorite, weaver's bend on the french broad river on the TN side. That's a great spot right next to the river.

We camped and swam right on the French Broad River. Great freaking views. Big Red loved it too, the temps stayed manageable the entire way.

Meant to update this earlier with better pics and videos, but we were overcome by events in the Middle East. I still have family there and the situation is fluid enough to get us drawn into a wider conflict. I've volunteered my name, should we get more involved, so this thread might die down for a little while again.

Anyway, here are some tame videos my wife was kind enough to film.

We didn't get to do anything hardcore, cause the purpose of this trip was to celebrate our anniversary. I was lucky she let me take Big Red instead of Ron Burgundy, our Tacoma.

Damn Mike…your arms are bigger than my legs :). I need to step up my workout routine.

There's nothing to do on deployments but workout and get in fights.

I'm loving the stance on Sushi Roll. Thinking 33 inch tires will make her look good and won't require regearing.

And put in 10 quarts of fresh racing oil in Lil Red Riding Hood. Going to drive her out to watch the eclipse.
