Wow Marshall, every time I look at that thing there is something I have not noticed, all of the mani bolts, pardon me for being lazy but did you go over that? And if so could you refer me to that page? And Marshall, the ss bolts, well I can sleep at nights now, thanks.

Wow. Just, WOW. Absolutely the biggest , gayest 2F build thread ever. Congratulations.

Polished chrome on the inner fenders with recessed fluoro lighting please Marshall.

(You have no choice now. That motor DEMANDS it!)

Put it back in the closet, way too much sunshine for that to be out :D

I'm using a 2f intake manifold and a 3f or 3fe exhaust manifold. Since the later 2f's came with the 3f head already had the mounting holes for it tapped into the head. (86-87 I believe)
I decided to go with the 3f/3fe a exhaust manifold and use all the holes.

Not a big problem if I was in AU since they got the carbed version of what we know as the 3fe. Toyota made a gasket that had all the extra holes in it for just this setup. Problem was it's only available in AU and not something I wanted to fool with.

SO I took a OEM 2F gasket and bored three new holes in it. One of which I realized later didn't need to be done. But it worked out great.

Also you cannot use a 3fe gasket since it has cutouts for the injectors for the 3fe intake manifold.

This picture ought to explain it a lot easier.

Simply AWESOME! You need to have sunglasses for that thing!

Question... When you sprayed the Rust Bullet Black Shell, did you have to thin it? If so what did you use?

Gun? Tip size? I got a pint of the Black shell last week and the darn stuff is THICK! I brushed it on my radiator frame and it left brush marks. :frown:
The silver RustBullet flows out really well...

Well another find. I'm wrong that the manifold I have on the big gay being a 3F / 3FE. They are not the same. Learn something new every day.

Below is the 3F manifold. Never actually seen one and thought they were the same until I saw this pic. Pretty cool. I still like the 3fe manifolds better though.

No thinning. Sprayed using 1.6-1.7 I believe. Cheap northern tool gun. It is thick but if you crank up the air it will flow well. I also narrowed the pattern to a small cone made it a heck of a lot easier to get in the tight spots. Even places I wouldn't be able to reach with a brush. You do need to watch out for letting it get to thick though. Two coats is what is reccomended. If you spray a heavy coat expect some small bubbles. For me I don't care since the frame nor the firewall was smooth to begin with.

What Coolerman said! Have you thought of donating it to a museum?(tax write off, of course :p)

Coolerman,
I noticed the same thing with the black RB. I nicked a jam jar of MEK from the panel beater and it thins it out nicely. I still brush it at home, tho - no compressor or paint gear :frown: You might try some MEK to see what you think. I also thin the silver bullet, cause I was only able to get the gold label, not the automotive grade. But it works nicely.

You didn't get it in because you didn't have a load leveler? Come on. With two guys and a chain, you don't need a leveler. I've helped pull many drivetrains and never used one. Good luck getting it in this weekend. I want to see how that fagot runs.

That's what I figured.

Good luck getting it running soon. I'll race you when you get it dialed in. :)

Shame to hide all that "glamour" under a plain old hood- How about a clear hood and side panels- you can then share the gayness.:grinpimp:
