Just out of interest, you dont happen to have the part number do you?
I was leading a trail at cruise moab and I had a guy that was the original owner of his fj 40. He is in need of some bifold ws. I sold my extra. If anyone has some of their extra they could sell him that would be cool and make his day. Let me know since he isn't a mud person
Attached is a marked-up shop drawing showing dimensions for a new seal. I basically added 1/8" to the height of the seal to eliminate the gap between the top seal and the raingutter. This modification will require that new dies be made, so I want to get it right this time...
The overall height, A, will increase by 1/8". My first choice would be to keep the B, E, and D dimensions in the drawing the same as before and only increase the F dimension. Second option would be to keep the F, E, D dimensions the same and allow B to increase. I think the first option would allow more "squish" than the second and would perform better for the middle seals.
Once I get some feedback on this, i'll finalize the drawing and workup the price structure. I'm thinking of selling single seals (42" long) for those that bought the first time around and just want the taller seal for the top (basically, i figure i'll just charge shipping on those sales). I'll also have price options for one set and multiple sets.
Also, since i'm getting back into this, I should keep the momentum going and get the vertical seals made up. Let me know if you have a good sample that I could work from.
Thanks,
Jason
