I just realised that there were suposed to be leavers on the outside of the hatch. Any one have a pair that they would be willing to get rid of?

Thanks for posting the pics and installation tips. I think the new seals look great, at least in the center section...

I wasn't able to install mine this weekend. I'll get it done this week. When taking pictures, I'll try to "backlight" the door so the gaps can been seen better.

I took another look at my door with the middle seals installed and noticed that the seals compress a good amount when the door is in the closed position. If we adjust the seal cross section to take care of the gap in the top, we'll have to make sure we don't create problems for the middle seals....

Wes, you mentioned the length of the seals "in the book" is 1050mm. What book are you referring to? A service manual?

Seems like a simple fix to me. I haven't gotten mine yet to check. Would think if you fed something like a piece of rubber or rope thru the stripping to make it a little taller it seal better or put a piece of weather stripping across the top.:meh:

I was thinking along those lines for a fix to work with the seals as they are. If we get another run of the seals made, I'd like to try to adjust the dimensions to to eliminate the issue. I still haven't had a chance to install mine in my '66 to see if I have the same problem as Wes. Work has been impacting my personal time over the last few weeks. Guess I can't complain, it's good to be working....

I did have a chance to email cruiserparts.net about the early wing seals that they are advertising for $100 each. They stated that the seal is the correct cross section for the early wing windows. However, the seal they send you is a straight length of seal that needs to be partially cut at the corners and bonded at the end (and the corners where the cut is made). If I were to have them made, I anticipate this is how they would need to be done. I don't believe that a one piece seal would be very economical.

Has anyone tried the seals that cruiserparts.net sells?
