Love the 200, never had an 80 in the snow, but EVO's are otherworldly on almost every road surface I've slid them around on. I was actually looking at EVO X's last night as a 'practical' yet 'fun' car.

I do miss my evo. It was definitely a fun ride. Whatever the season it’s game. Drove it through all conditions and it never let me down. Hated driving through traffic jams for sure.

Be awesome to have a fun car. He new Corolla gr sounds like a fun car.

The LX/200 does alright in the snow. There are situations in which it shines, and situations in which it does not. For pavement+snow use, I'd actually prefer a lighter vehicle (still AWD, of course). For trail use with low-medium depth snow (up to about 20ish inches), the LX does great. For deep snow... hope you have another truck and recovery equipment handy, because you'll need both.



That may be the case where you live, but around here, those are the guys running all season tires because "they know how to drive", "have 4x4, bro" and are convinced that "winter tires are a marketing fraud by tire manufacturers."

Snow is a reason to drive more carefully and be more in tune with your vehicle and road conditions. Snow is not a reason to immediately drive "slow, real slow." Drive according to conditions, vehicle & driver capability, and leave plenty of margin for error.

Can one of you please come to Texas and show some folks how to drive in the wintry stuff? Just the slightest bit of sleet or snow fall and it's carmageddon around these parts.

Up until I bought a 3/4 ton truck I thought the 100/200 were the best. But there's really no substitute for 10,000 lbs on a long wheelbase... The Land Cruisers do very well, but a full size truck is a notch above, at least on the highway. 'Merica.

Curious but aren't most trucks 4x4 which isn't an advantage compared to 4WD on snow? Feel free to edumacate me as I'm from sunny socal.

Heavy with a LWB is good on flat ground and open road but slide terribly under braking and corners. In the mountains on winter roads I’d take my e320 4matic or Subaru above any truck.

My '99 Audi A4 with a metal belly pan was a beast in snow with just M+S tires. But like any car it would high center once the ruts were deep enough. My VW R is likely good, but even with a belly pan from an Allroad it is so low I don't bother with it in the white stuff.

I think my FJ-62 probably beats my 200, but need a little more snow time in the 200. The 2FE/H55F 62 was just a tractor.

this was in the NC mountains (record total). But when we get snow around my house, I’d wait for everything to close and go pull people out of the ditch. Never took money I did it for the fun. It was an amazing vehicle.

We have a foot of snow so far we are expecting 24-28 inches its super wet heavy sloppy snow. I have to drive a bit slower than I did on the dry powdery snow but still the truck is just amazing it just wafts about majestically.

For the eleven years I commuted to Denver for work in the FJ from my home in Conifer, I never got stuck once. I pulled a few out as well.

Out of all the SUVs I’ve had the 200 is my favorite to drive in any condition, only stuck once in a blizzard, high centered myself due to lack of momentum making a turn.

Where in NY are you, I'm a bit west of Albany; we have about eight inches right now, pretty short of the 18-24 they were predicting, but I'm not going to complain!
