Best ONLINE sources for OEM Toyota parts

In addition to Toyota parts sources I need Lexus parts for my LS460. I have been buying filters on Amazon but care has to be taken there to avoid counterfeits.

Where online do you order Lexus parts?

I don't think we have someone like CDAN or Beno on this forum. Several online sites - Olathe, Boch and McGeorge have been good. I always cross shop, since none of them always has the best price. I find the people at Olathe to be great when I can't find something on the diagrams, so I usually give them my business. Sometimes shipping matters a lot - like when I bought four brake rotors - the shipping was vastly different. Oh, and Partsouq is good sometimes too...
I couldn't get McGeorge to take the OEM "FREESHIP" code that most online Toyota Parts honor (free shipping for orders >$75).

For whatever reason my local dealer is no longer on the Toyota Parts page although I've ordered plenty from them for my 80. Nearest is in a different state now. I would really like to lock in a go-to place for OEM parts.

Most toyota sites will deliver Lexus parts.

Another fun fact.. if you search for part numbers shared between vehicles like the Lx and LC, and have the LX option selected vs LC, it will usually charge more money for the exact same part.

You are probably thinking of Cruiser Dan and @OGBeno . Dan now runs the LandCruiser heritage museum, and I’m not quite sure what beno does but it doesn’t seem to be slinging parts. He’ll correct me if I’m wrong..
Yes, those are the two members I was remembering. I remember the threads where Beno and Dan announced their new jobs (separate threads). Too bad it appears nobody has taken up the mantle. I'll checkout the sites mentioned here. Thanks all

I’m guessing it is too difficult to make the numbers work with the abundance of sites like what are posted all over this thread.

No one pays for expertise anymore. Everyone wants something for as cheap as possible.

Writing was on the wall for both @cruiserdan and myself.

Economies of scale aren’t there and it’s a race to the bottom.

I spend all of my time engaging with clients who have large scale projects, restorations, fleets, and technical research programs.

Amen. Amazoning commerce.

@cruiserdan and @OGBeno Thanks for the services you provided back in the day. Back then, I wouldn't have been able to afford a Land Cruiser or maintain it without your help, expertise and parts. I can totally see why it doesn't make sense anymore.

Not only does it not make sense anymore, the demographics have changed radically…. And not in a good way.

Coming from the 3FE Yahoo Group we had our own parts guru, the late Great John Hocker. He was the parts manager at Sierra Vista Toyota and a Cruiser head. He knew our trucks inside out and knew how to search the Toyota supply chain - warehouse network for parts. Those of you also in the 40/55 series section might remember the 'Saving the Old Rustbucket' thread where he came to the rescue having a slave cylinder overnighted to Pueblo Toyota. Eventually John saw what @OGBeno saw and left the business. When he left I ordered from both @cruiserdan and @OGBeno as well as my local dealer where the internet parts guy gave me a 20% discount. He has moved on as well. So we have to get our knowledge here on MUD and go find the parts where we can. Often I need a filter or brake pads etc that is not a big enough order to bother with bugging connected friends who can get them from the Toyota supply chain. I see CruiserOutfitters has their CruiserTeq.com site that I will probably start shopping. Now I just need a reliable source for parts for my Lexus L460 sedan. Cheers to the vendors and members on MUD who share their knowledge!

LexusPartsNow.com - which is the sister site to ToyotaPartsDeal.com

or Bell Lexus (which also sells on Amazon) - they are in Scottsdale, but I haven't figured out who their parts guru is - I had good experience with them on the phone

I know that @murf at Right Toyota is trying to get their parts business more like it was at Camelback Toyota when he was there - presumably, they give a MUD/LandCruiser discount now, but I haven't tested it out myself

Thanks for the heads up. I have made several purchases from Bell Lexus via Amazon. Bummer is that even with their Amazon store their offerings for a specific model are limited. To get oil filters, they arrived today, but 4 air filters OEM from someone else on Amazon, arriving next week sometime. So it's not as easy to give a list of needed parts. I'll just call Bell next time!

Good content. In my short time here, I've had good experiences with Autonation South Austin too. I had an issue with a damaged in transit part and they shipped a replacement as timely as I could expect. A few pics of the damaged part and a return label later, I was made whole with an undamaged part.

Would either of you care to elaborate on demos? @OGBeno @cruiserdan

Current buyers shop by price-only and are not willing to pay for a professional to assist them.

In other words, it is OK for them to make money but not anyone else.
Pretty straight forward.

Thanks; when demographics was mentioned, I thought maybe that meant that (in addition to the race-to-the-price-bottom), buyers were starting to skew younger, or something. But I guess "cheap" is also a demographic. If only they knew going in, the time they could save on large projects with a knowledgeable consultant...

Closer to "entitlement". So you may be closer to the answer than you think.

When everyone gets a medal strange things result.

Need some maintenance items. Anybody know of current online OEM deals like free shipping, discounts, etc.?
