I couldn't get McGeorge to take the OEM "FREESHIP" code that most online Toyota Parts honor (free shipping for orders >$75).I don't think we have someone like CDAN or Beno on this forum. Several online sites - Olathe, Boch and McGeorge have been good. I always cross shop, since none of them always has the best price. I find the people at Olathe to be great when I can't find something on the diagrams, so I usually give them my business. Sometimes shipping matters a lot - like when I bought four brake rotors - the shipping was vastly different. Oh, and Partsouq is good sometimes too...
In addition to Toyota parts sources I need Lexus parts for my LS460. I have been buying filters on Amazon but care has to be taken there to avoid counterfeits.
Where online do you order Lexus parts?
Yes, those are the two members I was remembering. I remember the threads where Beno and Dan announced their new jobs (separate threads). Too bad it appears nobody has taken up the mantle. I'll checkout the sites mentioned here. Thanks allYou are probably thinking of Cruiser Dan and @OGBeno . Dan now runs the LandCruiser heritage museum, and I’m not quite sure what beno does but it doesn’t seem to be slinging parts. He’ll correct me if I’m wrong..
I’m guessing it is too difficult to make the numbers work with the abundance of sites like what are posted all over this thread.Yes, those are the two members I was remembering. No one pays for expertise anymore. Everyone wants something for as cheap as possible.
Writing was on the wall for both @cruiserdan and myself.
Economies of scale aren’t there and it’s a race to the bottom.
I spend all of my time engaging with clients who have large scale projects, restorations, fleets, and technical research programs.
@cruiserdan and @OGBeno Thanks for the services you provided back in the day. Back then, I wouldn't have been able to afford a Land Cruiser or maintain it without your help, expertise and parts. I can totally see why it doesn't make sense anymore.

Thanks for the heads up. I have made several purchases from Bell Lexus via Amazon. Bummer is that even with their Amazon store their offerings for a specific model are limited. To get oil filters, they arrived today, but 4 air filters OEM from someone else on Amazon, arriving next week sometime. So it's not as easy to give a list of needed parts. I'll just call Bell next time!LexusPartsNow.com - which is the sister site to ToyotaPartsDeal.com
or Bell Lexus (which also sells on Amazon) - they are in Scottsdale, but I haven't figured out who their parts guru is - I had good experience with them on the phone
I know that @murf at Right Toyota is trying to get their parts business more like it was at Camelback Toyota when he was there - presumably, they give a MUD/LandCruiser discount now, but I haven't tested it out myself
Would either of you care to elaborate on demos? @OGBeno @cruiserdanNot only does it not make sense anymore, the demographics have changed radically…. And not in a good way.
Current buyers shop by price-only and are not willing to pay for a professional to assist them.Would either of you care to elaborate on demos? @OGBeno @cruiserdan
Thanks; when demographics was mentioned, I thought maybe that meant that (in addition to the race-to-the-price-bottom), buyers were starting to skew younger, or something. But I guess "cheap" is also a demographic. If only they knew going in, the time they could save on large projects with a knowledgeable consultant...Current buyers shop by price-only and are not willing to pay for a professional to assist them.
In other words, it is OK for them to make money but not anyone else.
Pretty straight forward.
