Great minds think alike Mark! This one has been on the back of my mind for a long time. Love that my Maxima has this from the factory. :)

OK. Picked up the buzzer today and installed it per the instructions above, between the LH headlight and gauge fuses. It only buzzes when I turn the key to Acc no matter if the headlights are on or off. Turning the headlights on with ignition off I get nothing.

I have Erik's Ultimate Harness installed, is that the issue? I wouldn't think so, but I'm not a sparky by any measure.

Something in how you've attached it to your fuse box...
Try the right headlight fuse location?
Check your fuses?

The point of this is you are powering the buzzer backwards, ah, are the buzzers directional, like a diode? Try turning it around, switch the leads...

I'm reminded again of my often recurring brainlessness. I was connected to the Cig fuse, didn't look up in there far enough. I actually ended up connecting to the Tail Light fuse so it buzzes if any lights are left on.

Sorry for the mis-direction.

Don't know if this has been mentioned. For those of you with ARB bumpers or any bumper for that manner. Get 2 sheets of skateboard griptape and cut to shape of each side of bumper and you have a less slip surface to stand on.

Sprayed graphite dry lube on all the leaf springs and it really seemed to make a difference in the ride quality. Cost about $7 at home depot.

Made a couple of seat risers to get an extra 3-4 inches of leg room (I'm 6'6" tall).

Long story short, 1" square tube with some bolt holes (and wrench-access holes) sandwiched between the seat bottom and slider rails.

It's so much better. My gas pedal ankle isn't twisted up like a pretzel any more. I'll see how much better it is after my next long (2+ hour) drive, though.

Can you post some pics. I'm a pretty tall guy myself. Seems like an interesting mod.

Very interested as well. So if you gain 3-4 rearward I would assume you lose it going forward. I'm tall, the wife is short, and she probably drives it more than I do.

Yup, you lose forward range.

No pictures at the moment, but I'll take some when I take them back out to paint/finish grinding down sharp corners, etc.

They're pretty ugly at the moment, thanks to having to do all my cuts with hacksaws and an angle grinder. The holes I drilled are nice, though; a drill press sure makes a difference.

I can finally post one of these of my own.

Upgrade the light bulbs on my dome and the cargo light. Holy cow these are bright. Just look at the foot candle readings from about a foot away.

Maybe the warm white would have been better, but I like that I can see EVERYTHING inside now.

Works well when tinkering at night.

Did this on mine, 48 LED; $2.96 ea. EBay.

Any idea on the dome panel LED draw?

I added a couple strip LEDs under the gutter line. They wrap around the back of the truck and wires run into the flip gate gap. I am thinking of running them into the dome light circuit. Ebay has a variety of them, some with controllers, different colors, etc. I think I've seen a wireless mod for them too. These were $10-15 for a 15ft(?) strip.

Camp setup in the dark is AWESOME with these!

I can't take credit for that one. I saw it on a guy's 80 from Jefferson State Cruisers at Cruisin' The Woods last year. Can't really say about bugs.. we are in a fairly bug-free state as things go, but I didn't notice any difference other than you can SEE bugs more clearly. :D

Cody put up some additional info in my build thread-

"There are a couple sets of those LED's on eBay. The 15-16$$ and then like 19-25$$. Those extra bucks are worth it. I've bought a couple sets of each for various projects. One blue set from each. The cheap one has the same issue as you, and my good set hadn't had a set of 3 stop yet. I have one of each price range on each side of my 62 and the 19-25$$ is brighter, and all stay lit. I will say my only regret is choosing blue. The light output is horrible compared to the white."

I'd like to see what's involved with the wireless mod for those LEDs. That's a pretty sweet setup.
