Man that headliner looks clean.

It's amazing to me how many parts from mid-late 90's 4Runners are direct replacements on 80's vintage LCs. I am ordering a set of wiper arms off of ebay right now.

That said, I have a super simple under $50 mod: Dome light replacement. Pulled from a junk yard 1995 4Runner and bolted right in, as if made for the truck. It cleaned up easier than the chalky plastic from my original, and cost less than a lens replacement. I think the cost out the door was $1. It's a bad pic, but you get the idea.

And stayed Yota built too.. Good job.

yes those! I like them and they are a lot better then stock.

Ps.. your other pic doesn't work

Bad idea. Those look terrible. Stock are infinitely better, especially since they are 62 mirrors.

Theaz. Hate to beat up on you but those mirrors are just wrong!

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedeous. My eyes, my eyes! Barf.

I did it again!! I left my lights on after driving through a daylight headlight section of road. When I got back to the car the battery was DEAD.
I charged it up overnight and then drove to Radio Shack, I purchased a Mini 12v buzzer (Part# 273000055)(NEW PART # 2730059). This is a very small less than 1 in (2.5 cm) box with two wires (black and red) coming out of it. My '82 has the old type glass fuses. '83 and later have the blade type (I believe).

Pulled the headlight (left) fuse and pushed it back in with the red wire between the fuse and the holder. Then I took out the Gauge fuse and did the same with the black wire.

Now if the ignition is in the ON or Acc. position and the headlights are on there is no buzzer. However, if you turn the ignition to OFF and the headlights are on you get a 75 db buzzer telling you to TURN OFF THE LIGHTS!!!!!

The cost of the buzzer is a whopping $3.29. They have fancy 2 tone buzzers and chimes if you want to spend between $6.00 and $9.00.

This is a super easy mod that will save you a lot of agrivation.

Bump to this great mod.

Holy cow !!!! What a simple yet great idea.

The old part number still works at the radio shack. It cost me $3.99.

Part number 2730055.

It took me all of 8 minutes to do this, including the time to go to radio shack.

It works perfectly.

Thanks for this.

Glad to see my old headlight buzzer mod is still going strong. Every once in awhile I feel a sense of confidence that I don't need it anymore, but I am glad it is there to remind me. ZERO dead batteries since the install :)

Priceless! - Err......$3.29

Bump this mod again. Just back from the Shack and will likely never have to return to my rig in the morning with a dead battery. Why would you NOT do this?
