Just replaced my battery from OEM Panasonic to Duracell SLI27M

Old Battery
Toyota Japan OEM Panasonic 105D31L with 650 CCA and 20hrs capacity of 80Ah. Vehicle was build in Oct 2020 and delivered to me Nov 2020, so I got 4 years and 9 months out of it. I also installed a diesel power products PPE Battery Heat Shield in 2022, unclear whether this did much however not expensive and does not hurt. Temperatures in Houston are up there so I would say heat eventually killed the OEM together with some short drives by my wife. Be nice to have gotten 5 to 6 years out of it, not terrible either. Under hood batteries just die, my 2014 BMW535d has it in the boot and the OEM Varta lasted me 8 years and 11 months, nice!

Pic of the Panasonic and the electrical setup which is a) for the anderson plug and a winch I use on the roofrack for our 18ft long Hobie Tandem Island sailing kayak and b) to have a permanent and relay operated (engine running) fuse boxes for accessories (for to be installed airlift 74000 pump to my airbagman bags and the 12.5 LRA and any future projects)

New Battery
SLI27FM Duracell Ultra Lead Acid battery with 840 CCA, 20 hr capacity of 70Ah. Could not find a Lead Acid rated at 80Ah matching the Panasonic. Do not want to go AGM under hood as high temps will just kill it as well as the OEM alternator not setup to charge it properly. Cold Crank Amps look good compared to the Panasonic (maybe the Japanese measure this different from the US, do not know), so we will have to see how this works out. 3 year warranty is something. Hope to get 4 years out of this battery or otherwise I may go to Interstate or similar lower cost thereafter (maybe a $50 or so difference).

Again used a diesel power products PPE Battery Heat Shield (gold color thing around edge of battery), since I have it anyways.

Good Looking wiring under your hood! I hope your new battery lasts well past the 3 yr warranty. IME, bAtTeRIeS pLuS bULbS doesn’t hold up their end of that agreement when it matters.
